Certification Details Certification Requirements: ACLS and BCLS Job Details Effective 11/30/24, IU Health will not allow IN RN’s to work at their facilities (SEE EXCEPTIONS BELOW). The last day for IN RNs to start a NEW contract is 9/9 (allows them to finish a contract by 11/30). Periop/OR RN’s, Allied and Ambulatory RN travelers are exempt from this rule. These IN travelers are allowed to work past the 11/30 deadline. Periop includes ENDO, IR RN, PACU, Cath Lab RN, SDS IU Health is now offering charge pay, which is a bill rate bump per hour MUST BE FLEXIBLE WITH WEEKEND REQUIREMENTS, WEEKEND REQUIREMENT WILL BE BASED ON UNIT NEEDS. TRAVELERS MUST BE ABLE TO WORK 50% OF THE WEEKENDS IN THEIR CONTRACT. IU Health University and Methodist are teaching facilities and require all travel nurses to agree to the possibility of precepting and/or being assigned students to shadow them while on assignment. Please only submit candidates that are okay with these requirements. First Time Travelers Accepted Shift Requirements: 4x12 or 3x12 Call-Ins: If a traveler call-ins for a contracted shift, the traveler is expected to 1) make up the day during the pay period, if a 0.9 FTE. OR 2) if a 0.9 FTE and unable to make up during the pay period, then the shift will be added at the end of the traveler contract 3) If a 1.2 FTE, any call-in shifts will be added to the end of the contract Charge coverage: Pending operational needs, unit charge nurse responsibilities may be needed with provided training and resources. Skillset Requirements: Minimum 2 Year Required, Telemetry, Proficient Neuro Experience, and Management of Drips Skillset Preferences: Conscious Sedation and Level 1 Trauma Experience Floating Requirements: Unit travelers may be expected to float to different levels of care (Med-Surg, PCU, ICU) with resources provided if needed at both University and Methodist Hospitals Staffing Ratios: 1:3-4 (Will Rarely See 5 During Emergencies) Unit Information: CVAs, Hydrocephalus, brain tumors and resections, seizures, and TBIs; shooting, stabbings, MVCs, people falling over rugs etc. GI surgeries and large wound cleaning and closures.
