Pulmonology - Pulmonary Sleep Medicine Physician

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Pulmonary Sleep Medicine Physician to join our medical team near Phoenix AZ. As a Pulmonary Sleep Medicine Physician, you will specialize in the diagnosis, treatment, and management of patients with sleep-related disorders and pulmonary conditions. Your primary focus will be on providing comprehensive care to patients with respiratory and sleep-related concerns. This is a full-time opportunity M-F with limited call coverage and no Critical Care hospital coverage.

Responsibilities:

Diagnosis and Evaluation:

Conduct thorough evaluations and assessments of patients with respiratory and sleep-related disorders, including performing detailed patient histories, physical examinations, and reviewing medical records.Sleep Disorder Management:

Develop and implement treatment plans for patients with various sleep disorders, such as sleep apnea, insomnia, narcolepsy, restless leg syndrome, and circadian rhythm disorders. Provide recommendations for appropriate interventions, including lifestyle modifications, medications, and continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) therapy.Pulmonary Care:

Evaluate and manage patients with pulmonary conditions, such as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), asthma, interstitial lung diseases, and pulmonary hypertension. Perform pulmonary function tests, interpret diagnostic tests, and develop treatment plans.Sleep Studies:

Oversee and interpret sleep studies, including polysomnography, multiple sleep latency tests (MSLT), maintenance of wakefulness tests (MWT), and home sleep apnea testing. Analyze data and provide accurate reports and recommendations for patient care.Patient Education:

Educate patients and their families about sleep disorders, respiratory conditions, treatment options, and self-management strategies. Offer guidance on healthy sleep habits, breathing exercises, and ways to improve overall respiratory health.

Qualifications:

Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited medical schoolBoard certification in Pulmonary Medicine and Sleep MedicineValid medical license and ability to practice medicine independently in the state of AZ
