II. Organizational Position
The Dean of Students is a teacher who will report directly to School Principal

III. General Scope and Responsibility
The Dean of Students is a teacher who will assist students in resolving interpersonal problems and conflicts and class attendance that enables student success in school.

IV. Specific Duties and Responsibilities

1. Assists principal and assistant principal in the overall administration of the school.
2. Performs as a resource for teachers and staff who express concerns for student attendance, student development and/or discipline;
3. Coordinates efforts with guidance, police liaison officer(s);
4. and Consults with families via conference or communication systems concerning student attendance behavior;
5. Resolves student behavior concerns in a fair and timely manner and maintains records of disciplinary or referral actions taken;
6. Closely monitors the physical plant of the school and grounds and follows-up on student vandalism;
7. Assists in developing and administering practices dealing with campus control and security;
8. Maintains active relationships with parents, families and students;
9. Assists in developing and administering practices dealing with campus control and security;
10. Performs other tasks and assumes responsibilities within the overall scope of the position which the principal may assign.

V. Minimum Qualifications and Experience

A. Educational:
1. Master's Degree preferred
2. Valid Pennsylvania certification as required by the Department of Education
3. Five years of successful teaching experience
4. Strong behavioral and classroom management background

B. Physical:
1. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
2. Possesses sufficient dexterity and is capable of using a keyboard
3. Has physical mobility necessary to perform assigned duties.
