Responsible for the delivery of patient care for assigned patients on a specific shift worked. Coordination of all aspects of the medical plan and nursing standards of care using the nursing process for triage, L&D, and circulating/scrub for C-Sections. Also directs and guides the activities of other personnel while maintaining standards of professional nursing. Must be able to provide the care needed as described in the department's policies and procedures. Must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served in the obstetrical department including the principles of growth and development over the life span. Must possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his/her age specific needs as they relate to the surgical experience. Must be able to provide the care needed as described in the department's policies and procedures. This nurse would be scheduled(4 day work week) 24 hours worktime & up to 36 hours of call per week with every other weekend commitment. Evening/nights: worked hours (5p-11p) call hours 11p-7a. Education/Licensure•High school diploma / GED•Nursing Degree (ADN / Diploma)•Education requirements for nursing & unit specific education and annual skill competencies•Educational requirements per hospital certifications (Example: Stroke, Orthopedic/Spine)•Current and valid Registered nurse license in the Commonwealth of Virginia or from a state that is part of a Compact agreement with Virginia•Relias basic fetal monitoring prior to coming off orientation•ACLS prior to coming off orientation•NRP prior to coming off orientation•BLSExperience•Minimum of one (1) year of RN experienceCompetencies, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities•Clinical competence as OR circulator and scrub for C-Section procedures.•Completion of annual Augusta Health education requirements and unit competencies.•Annual education required per hospital certification(s).•Demonstrates good leadership and communication skills.•Demonstrates job related computer competence as seen in patient documentation and information retrieval, Meditech & GE applications.•Practices within scope of Nurse Practice Act.•Familiar with current Standards of AWHONN.•Familiar with accrediting body standards applicable to daily work practices.•Ability to meet physical and mental requirements for job in a fast paced, operating surgical setting.•On call required with 30 minute response time and every other weekendSome benefits of working at Augusta Health include:Generous paid time off to promote work life balanceFree onsite parkingShift and weekend differentialsTuition reimbursementOnsite child careCompany Information Augusta Health is a mission-driven, independent, nonprofit, community health system located in Fishersville Virginia in Virginia's scenic Shenandoah Valley.
