The HR Coordinator will work closely with the HR team, Firm leaders, and team members to provide general HR support. This employee will partner with employees throughout all phases of the employee life cycle. The ideal candidate will be personable, self-motivated, and team-oriented with a desire to help shape culture.Serve as a first point of contact for general HR inquiries and route complex matters as appropriateManage pre-employment screening processManage new team member onboarding processes, including coordination of first day details, orientation and other employee experience activitiesSupport offboarding process including separation meetings, materials and internal communicationMaintain HR personnel filesManage business card and name tag ordering processCreate and maintain employee and payroll data in the HRIS systemManage Employment VerificationsPlan and coordinate annual onsite flu shot and wellness clinicsComplete annual HR audits and support team in revisions if applicableAssist the HR team with total rewards administration, including employee insurance and retirement activities, Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) process, PTO administration, etc.Support recruitment in career fair sign-ups, attendee scheduling and attendance when neededAssist with the creation and maintenance of HR initiatives, like MPS WELL, the Career Connection Program, Celebrating Years of Service, etc. as directed by the initiative owner.Prepare HR presentation materials and employee documentsDocument standard operating procedures for internal HR processesMaintain confidentialityMaintain compliance with local, state and federal reporting requirementsProvide general HR support for HR team, Firm Leaders and team membersServe as back up for a broad range of HR processesTravel up to 20% as needed across MPS studio and office locationsOther duties as assigned
Requirements
Bachelor degree or equivalent work experienceStrong professional presence and ability to work across all levelsStrong interpersonal skills; ability to work in teamsMust take initiative and be a proactive change agentExcellent time management skillsAbility to meet tight deadlines and be flexible to changing work flow and demandsExceptional organizational and follow-through skillsStrong verbal and written communication skillsSelf-motivated and ability to work independentlyAbility to work well in a matrix management structure (e.g., multiple decision-making leaders/organizations)Working knowledge or desire to learn employment laws and regulationsDemonstrated cultural awareness and sensitivityProficiency with Microsoft Office SuitePreferred QualificationsExperience in professional services: architectural, engineering, or construction firms preferred SHRM-CP/SCP or PHR/SPHR
