Our client is a strong NFP here in the Twin Cities Metro, they are looking to hire an Accounting Manager to their team!
This is brand new position as the CFO is looking to retire in the next 5 years so there is a huge growth opportunity for someone coming into this role. This position supports the CFO in the daily activities of managing the financial position of the organization, while providing supervision for all accounting staff.

The Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing the financial management and accounting operations of a non-profit organization. This position ensures that financial policies, procedures, and controls are in place and followed, and that the organization's financial statements are accurate and timely.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain accounting policies and procedures in compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and other relevant regulations.
- Oversee and coordinate the preparation of the organization's financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and statements of cash flow.
- Manage the day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll.
- Prepare and review budgets, forecasts, and financial reports for the organization's management and board of directors.
- Manage the organization's cash flow, investments, and banking relationships.
- Coordinate and oversee the annual audit process and prepare the organization's annual tax return.
- Ensure compliance with grant and contract requirements, and maintain accurate records of all grants and contracts.
- Monitor and analyze financial performance, identify trends, and make recommendations for improvements.
- Provide financial analysis and support to the organization's management team and board of directors.
- Manage and develop the accounting team, providing leadership, training, and coaching.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, with a minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, preferably in a non-profit organization.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and other relevant accounting standards and regulations.
- Experience managing accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll.
- Experience in preparing and analyzing financial statements, budgets, and forecasts.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify trends and make recommendations for improvements.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop staff.
Compensation:
- $75,000 - $80,000 annual salary
