Reports to: Chief Financial Officer (CFO)
Salary: $90,000-$120,000




Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Controller with extensive experience in manufacturing environments to join our dynamic leadership team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing all financial operations, ensuring accurate reporting, and maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements. This role emphasizes management and mentoring, with a focus on building and leading a high-performing finance team to support the company's growth.

The Controller will partner with executive leadership to drive operational efficiency and financial performance, while also playing a key role in developing and mentoring the accounting and finance staff. A strong manufacturing background is essential, as this role requires a deep understanding of cost accounting, production processes, and financial controls specific to the industry.




Key Responsibilities:

Financial Management & Reporting:
  • Oversee all aspects of financial accounting and reporting, including month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Prepare, analyze, and present financial statements, budgets, forecasts, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Manage cash flow and working capital to ensure healthy financial operations.
  • Implement and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Lead external audits and coordinate with auditors and tax advisors.
Manufacturing Cost Accounting:
  • Develop and maintain a cost accounting system to track and analyze product costs, variances, and margins.
  • Collaborate with operations to monitor inventory valuation, standard costing, and production efficiencies
  • Provide financial insight into capital expenditure planning and long-term investments.
Management & Leadership:
  • Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing finance and accounting team through coaching, professional development, and performance management.
  • Establish goals and performance metrics for the team to align with company objectives.
  • Foster a collaborative work environment across departments to enhance financial visibility and accountability.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency within the finance function.
Strategic Planning & Business Partnering:
  • Collaborate with senior management to develop financial strategies and support decision-making.
  • Provide actionable insights and recommendations to improve profitability and operational efficiency
  • Analyze industry trends and market conditions to support risk management and future growth opportunities.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to the leadership team, bridging financial expertise with business strategy.



Qualifications & Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA, CMA, or MBA preferred).
  • 8+ years of progressive experience in accounting and finance, with at least 3+ years in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong expertise in cost accounting, inventory management, and financial analysis
  • Proven experience in mentoring and managing teams with a focus on skill development and growth.
  • In-depth knowledge of GAAPERP systems, and financial software (experience with [insert ERP system] preferred).
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence cross-functional teams
  • Strong analytical mindset with exceptional problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience with process improvement initiatives (Lean, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies is a plus).
