CFS is searching for an experienced Collections Manager to lead our clients student billing and collections department. This role is crucial in overseeing the management of student accounts, with responsibilities that include billing, collections, and account reconciliations. The Collections Manager will handle sensitive financial interactions with students and families, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficient communication while supporting the institution's financial health.

Location: Hartford, CT (On-site)
Compensation: 60-80K

Responsibilities of the Collections Manager

  • Lead all collections activities, working closely with various departments to ensure accurate billing and timely payment processes.
  • Develop and implement effective collections strategies, monitoring accounts and addressing outstanding balances proactively.
  • Serve as a key contact for account inquiries, providing guidance on payment options, account adjustments, and past-due notifications.
  • Manage monthly billing cycles, assess fees as needed, and oversee collection communications to ensure clarity and efficiency.
  • Coordinate with team members to design and offer alternative payment plans to support a positive customer experience.
  • Maintain accurate documentation for compliance purposes, ensuring all financial records meet company policies and relevant regulations.
  • Oversee updates to collections policies, student-facing resources, and internal communications to enhance department operations

Preferred Qualifications of the Collections Manager

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or business administration.
  • 3-5 years of experience in collections management, ideally in a high-volume environment.
  • Strong analytical and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to manage sensitive financial situations.
