As a member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing daily monitoring of system security, development of cyber security procedures, and administration of security related systems and services, to improve the cyber security position of the department. The number of systems and online services supported by the department continue to grow. Work hours for this position are Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Maintaining situation awareness with ongoing cyber security events and notifications. Conducting security assessments and risk assessments of systems and networks and reporting and remediating findings in accordance with policy. Developing and maintaining a software inventory. Advising and consulting with systems, development and desktop staff to ensure data security issues are addressed. Reviewing current and proposed state and federal laws, rules and regulations in order to determine their effect on security standards and requirements and to propose changes as appropriate. Occasionally assist with systems administration tasks. In order to be successful, you must have: Knowledge of computer operating architecture. Knowledge of mainframe operating systems. Knowledge of management information systems. Knowledge of data security systems. Knowledge of computer networking and data communication. Knowledge of systems analysis methods and techniques. Knowledge of facility security planning. Knowledge of Linux and Windows a plus Ability to prepare, disseminate, and test data security plans and programs. Ability to analyze and evaluate the security aspects of complex information systems. Ability to remain current with cyber security developments. Ability to write technical publications and plans. Ability to communicate effectively both verbal and written. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: (Entry level knowledges, skills, and/or abilities may be acquired through, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO the following coursework/training and/or experience) An eight (8) year combination of education and progressively responsible experience in management information systems including at least three (3) years in information system security and/or audit work.
