We'll never stop reinventing ourselves to meet our customers' evolving needs - because we know that our work, delivering 100% fiber optic internet, truly changes people's lives.Essential FunctionsCoordinate network outages with Voice, Video, IP, Transport, OSP and Local Operations engineers to ensure quick resolution.Perform event notifications to internal and external customers and leaders within the Lumos teams.Assist with 3rd party ticket creation for off-net outages and escalations.Assist with network outage isolation and troubleshooting.Identify chronic issues on the network and provide support in resolving those issues.Identify, diagnose, and resolve problems affecting network performance that have been escalated and unresolved within the NOC teams.Provide technical and analytical support in determining the root cause of network problems and implement action plans to resolve potential or active network impacting issues.Work tickets to find solutions in order to correct customer network issues and faults.Provide assistance and support to other team member as required during critical outagesProvide assistance to Voice, Transport, IP, Broadband engineers as neededProvide assistance to Change Management team as needed.Perform any other duties assigned by NOC managementOther duties as required.

Technology Skill MatrixDATATransportExtensive experience with Ethernet/TCP/IP Networking. Must have detailed understanding of IEEE and ITU standards for FTTH & GPON technologies.Ability to Move, Add, Change and Delete circuits in Digital Cross Connect Systems and MUX systems using TL1 and etc.SNMP, UDP, IMAP, DNS, RADIUS (AAA), LDAP, NTP and SMTPIntermediate TDM, SONET, Optical Fiber, CWDM/DWDM experience.Ethernet and Mobile Backhaul Experience is desired.OTN, ROADM, SONET, cross connect provisioning and signal grooming.Experience working with MPLS and designing layer 2 and layer 3 private networks, including programming and testing VPN.Experience with various protection and switching methodology to include UPSR/BLSR.Ability to completely design, build, program, deploy, and document new IP services from a network core to multiple customer sites.BTI, CISCO, CIENA, Infinera Transport experience.Must have a thorough knowledge of the OSI model and how it pertains to various transmission protocols, and multi-protocol routing including VRF, VPN, EIGRP, BGP, OSPF, VPLS, and VPRN.Ability to perform software and hardware upgrades as necessary in all TDM, SONET and DWDM systems throughout Lumos.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities RequiredExcellent communication and customer service skills.Good analytical and problem-solving skills.Must be able to computer and peripherals for extended periods of time.Detail-oriented with good organizational and time management skillsMust have effective interpersonal skills to interact successfully with internal and external customers, leadership, and team members to ensure customer satisfaction.Must be able to prioritize and re-prioritize as needed, in a fast-paced working environment, especially when dealing with time-sensitive issues and mandated deadlines.Must be analytical and have proven problem-solving abilities.Demonstrated experience with MS Office including Word and Excel.Vendor certifications preferred including: BTI, Cisco, CIena Adtran, Alcatel-Lucent, Fortinet, VeloCloud, etc.Skilled at coach hiring managers onProficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint,

Other Experience & Requirements2-4 years professional level experience or 5+ years professional level related Engineering/TechnicalFiber or Telecom industry experience preferred.
