The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cost accounting principles and practices, with a focus on analyzing production costs and improving financial performance. This role will play a crucial part in ensuring accurate cost tracking and reporting, supporting management decision-making, and enhancing operational efficiency.
RESPONSIBILITIESCost Analysis: Analyze and report on manufacturing costs, including material, labor, and overhead, to identify cost-saving opportunities and efficiency improvements.Budgeting & Forecasting: Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and monthly forecasts.Cost Tracking: Maintain and update cost accounting systems, ensuring accurate tracking of production costs and variances.Inventory Management: Oversee inventory valuation methods, reserves, and processes, ensuring accurate recording and reporting of inventory costs; responsible for account reconciliation of physical inventories and cycle counts.Financial Reporting: Prepare detailed cost reports and financial statements, presenting findings to management to support strategic decision-making.Analytical Skills: Must be able to analyze data, draw conclusions, interpret results, and make recommendations.Process Improvement: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement cost control measures and process enhancements.Compliance: Understanding of U.S. GAAP as it applies to a manufacturing environment; ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal controls, participating in audits as required.Special Projects: Work on special projects as assigned.Mentorship: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior accounting staff, fostering professional development and knowledge sharing.QUALIFICATIONBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CMA designation preferred.Minimum of 5 years experience in cost accounting, preferably within a manufacturing environment.Strong understanding of cost accounting principles, practices, and standards.Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems; experience with WorkWise or SAP is a plus.Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, financial modeling and data analysis; sql query experience a plus.Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment and manage multiple priorities.Supervision experience a plus.Strong:Communication skills, verbal and writtenLeadership attributes and interpersonal skillsOrganizational, problem-solving, and analytical skillsBENEFITS401k with Company Match After 90 DaysHealth Insurance 1st of the Month after HireVision & Dental Insurance 1st of the Month after HireLife & Disability Insurance 1st of the Month after HireFlexible SpendingPaid Vacation Upon HireReimbursement for Work Boots and Prescription Safety GlassesHoliday Package
