Why does the job exist?
Under direction of the Inspector General, this position will review, analyze, formulate recommendations, and consult with management staff on internal auditing tools, forms, policies, and procedures. In addition, this position will provide research and analysis on Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA) administrative functions and maintain tracking logs.
How does it get done?
* Coordinate review committees on a scheduled basis.* Conduct advanced research of statutory requirements.* Formulate and compose internal auditing tools, forms, policies, and procedures.* Maintain database for PREA administrative functions and investigations.* Consult with department staff on compliance related matters.* Use of technological developments to achieve results.

* New Mexico Corrections Department (NMCD)* All government agencies either State, Federal, or Local* General public
Ideal Candidate
Experience in the following:
* Auditing and compliance* Policy and procedure development administration* Creation of forms, logs, databases, and procedures.* Case/file management* Report writing* Research and presentation
Minimum Qualification
Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration and two (2) years of experience in the procedures of business and management principles involved in strategic planning. Substitutions Apply. See Substitution Table below.

This position is designated as safety sensitive. Employment is subject to pre-employment and random testing,in accordance with all terms and conditions of federal and state law, rules and regulations in relation to alcoholand/or drug testing. Pre-employment background investigation is required and is conditional pending results.Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License.
Working Conditions
Work is performed in an adult prison environment, which includes daily contact with inmates. Willingness towork in a correctional facility, may be required to work odd hours, overtime, holidays,and weekends.
