Job Description
Virginia's community colleges have a 50-year track record of educational excellence and innovation to serve the needs of our citizens and strengthen the Commonwealth's economy. When Virginia's General Assembly established the Virginia Community College System in 1966, the need for a comprehensive system was well known. Over the two decades after the end of World War II, leaders in government, business, professional sectors, and academia had called for a new approach to providing educational opportunity. A key concern was Virginia's ability to develop a skilled and knowledgeable workforce to expand the state's economy. Today our community colleges give every Virginian the opportunity to gain a quality education. With 23 colleges on 40 campuses located throughout the state, Virginia's Community Colleges are committed to serving Virginia families, helping them acquire the knowledge and skills to seize the opportunities of today and tomorrow.
This position serves as the primary technical lead supporting 23 colleges and 2 administrative support offices remotely, ensuring seamless configuration, integration, and management of the TeamDynamix platform across multiple departments. The role encompasses responsibility for infrastructure design, configuration management, and operational support for TeamDynamix's ticketing systems (IT, HR, Facilities, and other departments), project management modules, asset tracking, and IT onboarding workflows. Key responsibilities include providing advanced technical leadership in managing complex integrations utilizing iPaaS solutions and other integration brokers across various enterprise applications. This position is also responsible for ITIL and ITSM configurations, supporting colleges in onboarding to the TeamDynamix system, and ensuring the architecture integrates effectively with other systems used across the 23 colleges. In addition, the role requires applying scheduled maintenance, including vendor-supplied or in-house developed patches and fixes, to maintain and optimize enterprise applications and integrations. The individual will oversee the release process for new or enhanced applications, including planning, scheduling, and communicating updates, as well as delivering detailed implementation documentation and guidelines. The role includes a focus on change management, ensuring successful migration through development, testing, training, and production environments. A significant part of the role involves providing technical guidance, monitoring application performance, and conducting reviews to ensure efficient, scalable solutions that meet business needs. The individual will lead technical efforts, anticipate future needs, and identify opportunities for system improvements to support the mission of Virginia's community colleges effectively. This revision highlights the complexity, leadership, and technical depth of the position, aligning with the ITS III role's expectations while addressing the key areas of system integration and strategic planning.
