Amazon seeks a Financial Analyst to join Books finance supporting Demand Finance and Goodreads. The successful candidate will be thoughtful, analytical, and have a demonstrated ability to effectively influence the decisions of senior business leaders through clear verbal and written communication, financial analysis, logical reasoning, and the presentation of alternatives. The role operates in a fast-paced, global, results-oriented environment, and will provide decision support and advice for key business leaders.
Key job responsibilities
Develop long-term & annual financial forecasts, providing accurate variance analyses, presenting analysis and insights to senior Finance leadership as well as business senior leadership teams.
Work closely with business teams to create financial models ranging from new business opportunities to cash flow improvement initiatives- Interface with a wide variety of stakeholders for planning and reporting
Ad hoc analyses to support key business decisions
Create financial forecasts and variance analyses and present to Sr. Mgmt.
Perform deep dives to understand business processes and their financials impact
Full P&L ownership on Goodreads: Implement and drive the core financial processes and reporting for the business including Annual Operating Plans, Long Term Plans, and Monthly/Quarterly Business Reviews
About the team
The Demand function supports Kindle Content’s revenue forecasting process, employing multiple complex forecasting techniques to triangulate on revenue expectations over both short and long range time periods. This position has direct ownership of traditional trend-based financial models, and requires ongoing partnership with Business Intelligence and Machine Learning scientists who are building the next generation of revenue forecasting. The insights that you will glean from your analysis in this role informs decision making all levels of the business, and Kindle Content leadership will look to you as the expert on forward looking revenue expectations. In addition to topline forecasting process, the roll also supports Kindle Content’s Demand Product Managers with financial analysis which aids in the design of new products to delight our customers.
Basic Qualifications
3+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience
Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, or a related analytical field (e.g., engineering, math, computer science)
Preferred Qualifications
MBA, or CPA
Knowledge of Tableau
4+ years of participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results experience
Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $60,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $128,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
