Position Overview:

This position will provide technical support to Proterra's manufacturing operations, engineering, shipping/receiving and procurement in Greer, SC. The Quality Technician - Powered 1 will ensure that products are assembled and delivered in accordance with established Quality Standards and customers' specifications. This position will report to the Quality Supervisor and collaborate with other Sourcing team members located at our headquarters in Burlingame, CA and manufacturing facility in Greer, SC.

About the Role - You will:

Perform inspection duties on a variety of parts, including in-process and final dock inspection.Conduct technical quality assurance reviews and use results to improve production processes and standards.Complete records of inspection results: acceptance, rejection, disposition, etc. and enter into computer databases.Develop a thorough understanding of the technical components and processes involved in Battery and/or Ancillary Non-Battery assembly and apply that understanding in support of conformance with the Quality Management System.Identify and verify/validate components, assemblies, and sub-assemblies per drawings and related documents.Read and interpret engineering requirements from text and drawings to make initial decisions about conformity to requirements.Use a variety of tools, precision-measuring instruments, and multi-meters to make initial decisions about conformity to requirements.Coordinate containment of Work in Process and Finished Goods based on observed/measured deviations and electronic traceability systems.Other duties as assigned by management.About Our Group:

A strong work ethic and ability to multi-task while working well under pressure to meet schedules.The ability to interact and communicate effectively with technical personnel at all levels of the organization, including preparing and presenting presentations as needed.The ability to solve problems by obtaining data and performing analysis to identify and evaluate possible alternatives.Activities and decisions are varied in nature, frequently requiring independent action. Unusual cases are resolved with support of supervisor, engineers, and manager as needed.Cooperates with co-workers in maintaining continuous workflow.Coordination, communication, team problem solving within department.Excellent English written and verbal communication skills.Your Experience Includes:

Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in an assembly/manufacturing environment.Experience in automotive (supplier or OEM) quality functions preferred.Experience with vehicle electrical sub-systems (low voltage and/or high voltage), is a plus.Experience in electrical/battery module production, is a plus.Basic problem-solving skills.Solid computer skills demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) required.Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and basic math skills.Ability to read blueprints to be able to find critical dimensions.GD&T experience a plusWorking knowledge of quality measuring instruments, terminology.You might also have

2-year related technical degree preferred.Physical Demands

May work various shifts as needed; may be requested to travel to different locations.Lifting up to 25 pounds and occasionally 50 pounds.Able to walk, stand, crouch, bench, kneel, lift, carry and reach as needed in large and tight spaces.Good eye/hand coordination and ability to identify color variations, depth perceptions and close or distance visual items.Manual dexterity with occasional repetitive finger motion.Environmental Demands

Ability to work in manufacturing environment with extreme heat and cold conditions.Wear protective clothing or respiratory protective equipment.Works with irritant chemicals, gases, etc.
