Position Specific Description
Employees in this role will be responsible for leading the SCADA team in the support of safe and reliable operations of natural gas transmission pipelines, oil and gas production assets, and renewable natural gas facilities. The employee will be expected to apply a diversified knowledge of SCADA systems, IT, OT, and automation principles to a broad variety of assignments leading in the development, support, and management of the company’s assets.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
Ensure all SCADA solutions comply with industry standards, regulatory requirements, cybersecurity standards, and corporate policies.
Leads a team in the configuration, development, operations, and administration of the SCADA system and related applications.
Continuously monitor and analyze the performance of SCADA systems to identify areas for improvement, implementing upgrades and modifications to enhance system efficiency and reliability.
Provides technical support to operations and field personnel to ensure SCADA data reliability and availability.
Can understand, interpret, and troubleshoot common network, database, RTU and PLC communication protocol, and application issues.
Manages the collection of Electronic Flow Measurement (EFM) data and assists field personnel to resolve any measurement collection issues.
Incorporates feedback from Gas Control, field operations, engineering, and business development for failure mitigation and quality improvement
Modifies and maintains documentation and drawings related to the SCADA environment, use of applications, and related procedures.
Desired Qualifications
Working experience with SCADA applications within the Oil and Gas industry (
Specific knowledge and experience with GeoSCADA and AutoSol Communication Manger (ACM )is highly desired
).
Experience with and troubleshooting of industry PLCs and RTUs and their communications protocols (Modbus, TotalFlow, ROC, etc.)
Having Operator Qualification to perform P2P checkouts, or willing to train and become Operator Qualified
Sufficient understanding of networks, subnets, and troubleshooting IP communications
Microsoft Office Suite proficiency, particularly Excel
A basic understanding of pipeline hydraulics
Familiarity with PHMSA Control Room Management (CRM) processes and guidelines
