Job Functions / Responsibilities: Manage all aspects of a team working engineering projects from concept to closure. Support current production design & support, field service & warranty, and factory process improvements. Work with team members to meet schedule, performance, cost, weight, and reliability requirements. Supervising, personnel development, team building, proportioning work load and tracking progress. Tracking projects, providing periodic status updates to management, ensuring projects pass through all tollgates per the PCP process and use appropriate DFSS tools. Identify and initiate routing designs of complex nature and conduct necessary research incidental to design. The group's responsibilities include design of vehicle electrical wiring systems, including collaborating with mechanical design teams, Advanced Manufacturing, and Operations for defining routings for chassis wiring systems and battery cables. Up to 10% travel may be required. Qualifications & Skills: BSEE/MSEE or equivalent engineering degree required; Master's degree and PE license preferred. 5+ years of design experience, preferably with routing of electrical harnessing; PACCAR/manufacturing plant experience desirable. Must demonstrate an ability to perform in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment. Must be able to manage multiple simultaneous projects, and respond dynamically to shifting priorities. Overall commercial vehicle product knowledge is needed, including familiarity with vehicle vocations applications, and how the customer uses the truck. Extensive knowledge of electrical system design, automotive electronics, Mentor Graphics/Capital Harness tools, Pro-Engineer/Creo, and/or Design for Six Sigma all highly desired. Knowledge of vehicle routings and respective systems including engine, transmission, aftertreatment, coolant, fuel, air, battery cables and electric harnessing. Knowledge of chassis layouts and system design is preferred. Knowledge of component analysis & validation techniques is preferred. Candidate shall be able to provide group leadership and management of human resource issues. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are a must.
