Requisition Summary Kenworth is expanding theAir Systems Engineeringteam to include the integration of electrified powertrains as well as advanced diesel powertrains. We are looking to add an engineer to the team that is knowledgeable in vehicle air systems integration and has experience or the desire to gain experience in air systems design. Our ideal candidates will be motivated to contribute to a new generation of vehicles at Kenworth and PACCAR globally. This position is within the Chassis Engineering department at Kenworth. Responsibilities will include requirements definition, investigative, development, coordination, and implementation activities. The team will interface with other teams at PACCAR developing other related systems and representing North American vehicle requirements in our global organization. Here's what you will do in this role: Manage all aspects of a team of 6-8 engineers working projects from concept to closure. Support current production design, field service, warranty, and factory process improvements. Manage the design and development of heavy-duty truck Air Systems, focusing on improving the design and quality of the air-actuated components. Work with team members to meet schedule, performance, cost, weight, and reliability requirements. Supervising, personnel development, team building, and proportioning workload. Tracking projects, providing periodic status updates to management, ensuring projects pass through all tollgates per the PCP process and use appropriate DFSS tools. Manage vehicle-related issue resolution projects "cradle-to-grave" in all areas of the truck related to the air system. Complete work related to engineering and corporate goals. Work with internal and external organizations on designs, issue identification, root cause analysis, validation, product release, and field support. UtilizeCreoto create optimized parts and assembly of complex designs. Work through the Product Creation Process utilizing Tollgate to manage projects, report updates, and utilize Six Sigma skills regularly. Up to 10% travel may be required. Qualifications & Skills BSME or equivalent engineering degree required, Master's degree in engineering, or business, and a P.E. certificate is preferred 5-7years of engineering experience and experience with high-volume manufactured products required.
