JOB SUMMARY : The Purchasing Assistant is responsible for performing support activities within the Purchasing Department, while following the requirements of Indium Corporation's Quality Management System.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS (COMPETENCIES):• Perform clerical tasks as assigned or delegated• Run system reports• May maintain accuracy of the Vendor Item cross-reference data base, with direction from the Sourcing Supervisor and/or Tactical Buyer• May convert Purchase Requisitions to Purchase Orders, using the appropriate software system, with direction from the Sourcing Supervisor and/or Tactical Buyer• Review, accept, transact PO and perform item maintenance on various system data up to stated limits of authority.• Develop department-related knowledge through various types of continued education and training (such as Supplier Base Management and Negotiation Courses, MACNY Sessions, CPSM Training, etc.).• May process, expedite, audit, and reconcile financial transactions (Purchase Requisitions, Purchase Orders, Packing Slips, Invoices, etc.)• Collect and enter data and process electronic storage of information• Perform electronic data base maintenance (including, Vendor Cross- reference, default vendor notes, etc.)• May review purchase orders, identify and resolve discrepancies by contacting internal customers and suppliers as necessary• May assist with reviewing monthly Credit Card (CC) transactions and other CC tasks assigned• Attend training as needed or assigned• Perform other duties and special projects as assigned
REQUIREMENTS:• Associate's degree with an emphasis in Business Studies, or equivalent• 2 years related work experience• Fluent with Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and Outlook, as well as ERP software• Demonstrable experience with spreadsheets• Strong verbal and written English language communication skills• Proven reliable and dependable team player with ability to work independently• Experience with the software system Syteline is preferred• Demonstrates ability to perform multiple projects, tasks, and system functions simultaneously• Ability to develop an understanding of Indium Corporation products and services
SITE/SHIFT:
301 Woods Park Drive, Clinton, NY
Monday-Friday - 8:00am-5:00pm -- 15 to 20 hours per week
May require availability during evening hours
WAGE DISCLOSURE:
The salary range indicated in this posting represents the minimum and maximum of the range for the position. The actual range will vary based upon factors including, but not limited to, prior experience, knowledge, skill and education as they relate to the position's qualifications, and internal equity.
