Reports To: Superintendent
Supervises: Various Departments as assigned by the Superintendent, Principals as assigned by the Superintendent
Knowledge, Skills, Demonstrated knowledge and successful experience with NCAbilities Required: public school administration and teaching; performs a variety of supervisory and administrative tasks in directing and monitoring the programs and services for all schools. Employee plans, directs and reviews the activities and operations of the school leadership offices, schools and school support, including assessing needs, developing programs, and implementing services for students; coordinates the efforts of federal, state, and local agencies, parents, and division supervisors to provide the services needed by students as determined by District staff. Assist directors, coordinators and chiefs with monitoring school performance, mentoring and coaching principals through problem solving techniques. Employee should exhibit knowledge and skills in effective leadership, strategic planning, change leadership, and management.
Education, Training Four year degree related to education or Required: principal, public school and, central officeexperience preferred. Knowledge of developmental needs of students; knowledge of curriculum; knowledge of program/legal/budgetary constraints and requirements.Supervisory expertise required; qualify for or hold a NC License as a School Administrator.
Term of Employment: 12 months
Compensation: Negotiable based on qualifications and experience.
Responsibilities:Report directly to the Superintendent regarding the status of district programs and supports needed.Supervise and evaluate principals and assign coaches to principals.Serve as liaison and primary contact for external partnership related to school leadership.Supports and works in conjunction with Chief Academic Officer/Assistant Superintendent of Academic Services.In collaboration with the Chief Academic Officer/Assistant Superintendent of Academic Services and the executive leadership team, develops a network strategy for implementation of the district's instructional vision and is accountable for implementing initiatives and strategies aligned with District goals and priorities that improve learning opportunities for all students.Provides strategic leadership in the design, planning and implementation and evaluation of goals, short and long-range plans and programs in the areas of school improvement plans and overall school performance utilizing MTSS.Consult and work collaboratively with the Directors of Elementary, Secondary and Accountability regarding program initiatives, implementation, and student achievement. Provide leadership in the analysis of data regarding the effectiveness of school district programming.Determines the type of programs needed by schools and makes appropriate recommendations; addresses the needs of staff.Oversee strategic planning and district accreditation process.Oversee the district's Restart Schools and programs.Oversee school transformation and turnaround, i.e. supporting low-performing schools.Create support plans for schools and a framework for success.Design professional development that leads to academic and improvement.Assist schools with instructional monitoring, district initiatives, MTSS and Indistar.All other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Superintendent.
