Pattonville High School is home to a nationally certified Project Lead the Way is (PLTW) biomedical sciences program and assisted PLTW with piloting its four-year computer science course. Students who meet certain requirements can graduate from Pattonville with certificates that enable them to work in industry right out of high school. These certifications include: pharmacy technician, certified nurse assistant, life science laboratory assistant (biomedical science) and ServSafe (culinary arts). The district recently earned a Pinnacle of Achievement Award from the Association of School Business Officials International (ASBO) for utilizing the district purchasing process to create career exploration opportunities for students.

About the PositionPattonville School District is seeking a dynamic and innovative leader for the role of Assistant Superintendent of Teaching and Learning. This senior leadership position reports directly to the Superintendent of Schools and is responsible for guiding the district's instructional vision, fostering a collaborative culture, and ensuring the academic success and well-being of all students.

The Assistant Superintendent will lead the development and design of the district's curriculum and instructional programs, ensuring they meet the diverse learning needs of all students.

The Assistant Superintendent of Teaching & Learning will collaborate to provide leadership, service, and support for each student to:

Secure and develop resources (instructional, human, fiscal, and information) that support and advance our mission and visionEnsure that students, families, staff, and community members experience a safe, healthy and inclusive environmentDevelop and maintain an organization based on trust, communication, collaboration, critical thinking and creativityEnsure that each student meets or exceeds appropriate expectations relative to intellectual growth, physical development, and social-emotional well-being

Lead and supervise the following departments:

Provide leadership and supervision in the following areas:

Responsible for the revision of the District Comprehensive School Improvement PlanResponsible for overseeing the implementation of the action steps outlined in the District Comprehensive School Improvement PlanProvide coaching and support to building administrators for the action steps they have outlined in their building School Improvement Plan, building based personalized learning initiatives, curriculum implementation and building based professional development planningResponsible for monitoring the implementation of the standards outlined in Missouri School Improvement Program 6Responsible for overseeing and monitoring the DESE Alternative APR implementation processResponsible for the implementation of curriculum aligned with Missouri Learning Standards, student and teacher performance objectives, curriculum standards, and proficiencies in all subject areasResponsible for the formulation, planning, and implementation of the professional development program for all district staff (certified and non-certified)Provide leadership in developing plans for instructional research, pilot studies for curriculum, instruction, and technology, and new courses of studyOrganize and oversee district program evaluationsOversee implementation of Extended Learning Opportunities (ELOs)Lead, plan, implement, supervise, and evaluate district assessment/data strategyContribute to and implement district-level planning decision-makingOrganize and oversee the principal meeting agendas and professional development Principal and administrative program development and planning meetingsResponsible for the development and management of the Teaching & Learning budgetOversee the coordination of K-12 Summer SchoolImplement all board of education policies and state and federal guidelines related to instructional programmingOther duties as assigned by the superintendent

Position Qualifications

Education: Ph.D./Ed.D. or MA/MS in administration is required, as well as five or more years of administrative experience.

Salary Range

(based on 2024-25 salary range)
