Position Title:
Human Resources Generalist

Position Summary:
The HR Generalist will carry out responsibilities in the following functional areas: benefits administration, payroll, employee relations, training, performance management, onboarding, policy implementation, recruitment, and employment law compliance. The HR Generalist provides administrative support to human resources functions as needed. Key component in positively promoting the Company and creating a positive and safety-minded work culture in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This is an on-site position located in Houston, TX.
Essential Job Duties:
Partners with the HR team to develop people strategies and execute HR initiatives and programs.
Maintains visibility with all employees by being available to address any issues and concerns expressed in a timely and professional manner.
Serves as a resource for the site leadership team and advises site leadership on all Human Resource related topics.
Coaches and provides guidance to site leadership on employee relations/performance management as they handle performance issues and talent development needs.
Directly handle employee relations issues; conduct investigations and recommend solutions through progressive discipline process.
Partners with managers and employees on training needs for employees for career development and on-the-job training.
Ensures compliance with federal, state and local laws through efficient administration of company HR policies, procedures, programs, and initiatives.
Assists HR Director with leave administration in accordance with business process and federal and state laws.
Responsible for full cycle recruiting including posting jobs, attending job fairs, conducting phone screenings, extending offers, and coordinating post-offer drug screening and background checks.
Processes payroll for all hourly and salary staff.
Assist with timecard maintenance, ensuring accurate tracking and recording of employee hours.
Input payroll data into the system, ensuring all employee pay and deductions are calculated correctly.
Utilizes HRIS systems for employee data and produces reports as needed. This includes data entry for new hires, terminations, job changes, etc.
Assist with worker's compensation program.
Assist in managing employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other benefits.
Handle employee inquiries regarding benefits, and ensure proper communication and documentation of benefit options and changes
Supports the annual cycle for many HR related initiatives such as, open enrollment, performance management, talent review, compensation review, etc.
Other job duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Required Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Training and Development or equivalent
PHR or SPHR certification is preferred
Required Experience:
Minimum of 5 years HR Generalist experience (employee relations, payroll processing, recruiting, etc.).
Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Must be a team player who has excellent written and verbal communication skills
Must be able to work independently in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple work assignments simultaneously
Must possess problem solving, interpersonal, adaptability, planning/organizing skills
Well versed and proven ability to develop presentations and facilitate training at all levels of the organization
Strong knowledge of federal and state employment laws, FMLA, ADA, ACA, etc.
Ability to travel, which is less than 10%
Desired Experience:
Knowledge of OSHA and ISO Audit requirements
Familiarity of control documents and change procedures
Previous work experience in a manufacturing environment
Bilingual - English and Spanish
