Who You Are:

As the Accounting Director / Assistant Controller, you will be responsible for the monthly the closing process including reviewing journal entries, account reconciliations, and maintaining accurate supporting analysis and documentation across various accounting areas. You will also produce the monthly internal management reporting package. This role will assist in selecting and implementing a financial reporting and consolidations tool and maintain the tool from and accounting standpoint. This role will also help support special projects or requests from the executive leadership team including assisting in the stand up of internal controls and process improvement. In this role, you will lead and mentor a team of accountants.

This role is eligible to participate in our Management Bonus Plan.

What You're Good At:Overseeing the month-end close process and supporting the proper and timely recording of financial transactions in the general ledger in accordance with US GAAP and company policiesReviewing monthly balance sheet reconciliations along with necessary support and helping drive standardization of quality account reconciliationsReviewing, approving and validating dimensional accuracy and consistency of posting transactions and journal entries prepared by staff to ensure timely closure of the booksDriving the preparation of the internal income statement, balance sheet, and statement of cash flow by providing a variety of standard reportsImplementing and maintaining the financial reporting and consolidations toolAssisting in the internal controls design and setup and implement and maintain internal controlsSupporting annual external audit and quarterly reviews through preparation and review of audit schedules and information provided to auditorsCoaching and developing team to drive more accurate and efficient close processes and improvement of current processesImplementing or assisting with more complex accounting projects and initiatives as neededEnsuring policies and processes are well documented, applied consistently, and broadly understoodDeveloping and assigning team's goals, projects, and metrics (KPIs); and hold team accountable to meeting outlined KPIConducting performance reviews for direct reportsIn this role your goals and KPIs will be focused around:On-time monthly closing100% of accounts reconciled according to company policyAccurate and on-time monthly management reportingAssist Controller with the standup of internal controls environmentSuccessful implementation of a financial reporting tool

What You Contribute:

Bachelor's degree in AccountingCPA or CPA candidate required2+ years' experience Big 4 public accounting firm or relevant business experienceStrong Excel skills (SumIf, Lookup, Match, Pivot tables, data organization etc.)8-10+ years in a high-level accounting roleExperience with an ERP or financial reporting and control system (ex. Microsoft Dynamics AX, Workday/Adaptive, Onestream)Experience implementing a consolidation and reporting toolExperience in a consumer products companyHighly resourceful problem solver and fast learnerSolid knowledge of accounting policies/proceduresTrack record of leading teamsAbility to build strong internal/external relationshipsStrong organizational skills and attention to detailProactive self-starter with excellent time and self-management skills, ability to prioritize and multitask to meet deadlines is required
