Purpose of Position: Manage the general accounting functions relating to general ledger, & accounts payable & internal & external reporting the for the HCI & the Hospitals. Description Assist the VP of Finance & Treasurer in directing the accounting & financial reporting function of CCHC Coordinate & oversee the management of general accounting functions & financial reporting in accordance with GAAP & direct the preparation & distribution of timely & accurate operating & financial reports required within & outside the organization. Maintain data accuracy & integrity for all the Hospitals & HCI. Manage the cash disbursements & intercompany transfers of all CCHC affiliates for vendor payments for those affiliates utilizing the corporate accounts payable database. Promote the concept of cooperation & develop lines of communication with persons both inside & outside the healthcare system. Select & hire professional level staff & provide training. Evaluate & initiate appropriate personnel activities. Maintain fiscal control over CCHC expenditures. Install & maintain computerized general ledger, payroll, accounts payable & fixed asset systems. Control the structure of the modules for all Cape Cod Healthcare entities. Evaluate existing procedures in order to ensure that the department is operating efficiently & effectively. Oversee preparation & review of all internal & external reporting. Work in conjunction with the outside auditing firm & affiliates to ensure a successful year-end audit. Maintain accounting for CHICO financial results into the Consolidated Financial statements. Keep informed on the latest development in the healthcare field through study, reading & appropriate attendance at meetings, workshops & seminars. Perform other work-related duties as required or assigned. Qualifications Bachelor\'s degree in Accounting; CPA &/or Master\'s in Business Administration (MBA) preferred Experience in GAAP accounting; 7-10 years related experience, preferably in an acute care hospital/healthcare organization Experience with relational databases & large ERP systems - experience with PeopleSoft highly desirable; Advance proficiency with MS Office applications & related accounting & finance software programs; Demonstrated project management experience; Previous experience supervising staff with the ability to coach, motivate & engage employees in a finance function; Excellent analytical & communication skills with the ability to convey complex information clearly & concisely to all levels of management Strong organizational & time management skills, with the ability to meet deadlines & deliver outcomes in a fast-paced, busy environment Ability to use sound judgment to effectively solve problems within the scope of the position Schedule Details: Full-Time, M-F, Occ. Evenings, Weekends, & Occ. Holidays.
