Job Summary The Desktop Support Technician II provides desktop support and assists with Help Desk operations, while also performing low-level Active Directory (AD) tasks such as account creation, and OU management. Working Conditions: Work in office, classroom, lab, and clinical environments at all University facilities. Ability to work as needed with evening and weekend hours during the University's operating hours. Essential Functions Assist in desktop support and operation of the Help Desk, including and ticket assignment, follow-up with end users, and ticket resolution. Perform remote troubleshooting through diagnostic techniques and pertinent questions to resolve user issues efficiently. Install, maintain, and repair all computer hardware, peripherals, and software. Provide support for users of university-supplied computers, learning technologies, and conference room setups. Assist with AD administration including creating, disabling, and managing user accounts and Organizational Units (OUs). Maintain and update AD objects such as user profiles and security groups. Collaborate with senior IT staff to support directory services and ensure accuracy in user management. Provide onsite and remote support for the university's networked and local systems, including software installation and troubleshooting. Assist in maintaining DNS, DHCP, and endpoint protection software. Evaluate new desktop hardware and software for potential deployment. Required Qualifications Minimum of Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience). Strong understanding of desktop hardware, operating systems (Windows, macOS), and troubleshooting techniques. Experience with Active Directory, including creating and managing accounts, OUs, and security groups. Basic knowledge of networking (DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP) and endpoint protection systems.. Preferred Qualifications CompTIA A+ or similar certification preferred. Physical Requirements Typically standing, walking. Lifting demands 25lbs Location Salus Campus, Elkins Park, PA. Additional Information This position is classified as an exempt grade I. Compensation for this grade ranges from $ 41,120.00 to $61,680.00 per year.
