Oxford Solutions has an opening with a manufacturing client for an Desktop Support Technician. The ideal candidate will have prior experience supporting IT operations in a manufacturing setting and possess a comprehensive understanding of both hardware and software troubleshooting, networking basics, and user administration.
Responsibilities
Provide IT support for a Windows/Office 365 environment, addressing a variety of hardware and software issues.Respond to incoming tickets and resolve issues related to user setup, network connectivity, and system access.Administer Active Directory (AD), including adding new users, managing passwords, and setting up email accounts.Configure and troubleshoot multi-factor authentication, DNS, DHCP, IP ranges, subnets, and VLANs.Assist with the installation and repair of computer hardware and peripherals, following TIA/EIA-568 cabling standards for cabling installation, configuration, and implementation.Support major Microsoft operating systems and software products, including Windows 10/11, Windows Server (2012, 2016, 2019, 2022), Microsoft Office 365, Adobe Acrobat/Life Cycle/PDF Exchange.Qualifications
Associate's Degree in Information Technology or two years of applicable experience in an IT Support role.5+ years as a Desktop Support Technician, with proven experience in troubleshooting and resolving hardware and software issues.Proficient in Active Directory and Office 365 administration, DNS and DHCP understanding, and basic networking knowledge (IP ranges, subnets, VLANs).Strong understanding of Windows operating systems (10/11, Windows Server 2012, 2016, 2019, 2022), Office 365, and PDF editing tools.Intermediate knowledge of computer hardware, peripherals, and related installation and repair.Familiar with TIA/EIA-568 cabling standards and able to implement and troubleshoot cabling installations.
