Job posting details Insurance Specialist II This position performs routine (journey-level) insurance inspection or investigation work. Work involves processing a high volume of incoming inquiries and requests for the Continuing Education/ License Maintenance team. Work includes corresponding with Texas consumers regarding CE exemptions, extensions, surrenders, qualifying credit, provider applications, reinstatements, and general licensing maintenance inquiries. Work involves completing production goals, handling incoming postal mail, and daily work assignments. Works under moderate supervision with limited latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. This position: Correspond with Texas consumers regarding CE exemptions, extensions, surrenders, qualifying credit, provider applications, reinstatements, general license updates and maintenance inquiries. Comprehend and apply rules and statutes including the Texas Insurance Code and Texas Administrative Code. Draft clear and professional letters using TDI verbiage and procedures. Review and process postal mail daily. Crosstrain and assist other teams as needed. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications: This position requires: 60 college hours. One year experience in insurance work. Education and experience relevant to position requirements may be substituted for one another on a year-for-year basis. Additional job details: This position may be eligible for hybrid telecommuting. Employees must have a secure, dedicated workspace with Internet service, ability to maintain a reliable consistent work schedule, and be available for weekly meetings and group collaboration via Microsoft Teams and other applications during regular business hours. Preferences for this position include: General knowledge of AALs processes and procedures. This position requires demonstrated knowledge of: Rules and statutes including the Texas Insurance Code and Texas Administrative Code, especially relating to Agent and Adjuster Licensing. Microsoft Office software applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook. This position requires demonstrated skill in: Critical thinking; problem solving; and time management. Effectively and clearly communicating, in a clear and concise manner, with all levels of employees and the public. Analyzing correspondence and filings to extract pertinent information. Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with both management and staff. Using available resources for research and comprehension. This position requires the demonstrated ability to: Ability to enter electronic data accurately and timely. Ability to maintain a positive attitude in the workplace. Ability to keep an organized system for notes, updates, and procedur s. Ability to work independently, with moderate to limited supervision.
