A Brief Overview: Installs and repairs computer hardware and peripheral components, such as PC's, monitors, document scanners, laptop computers, portable computing devices, handheld scanners, and printers. Loads and verifies correct operation of software packages, such as operating system, word processing and spreadsheet programs. Identifies and resolves hardware, software and operator problems of a moderate to complex nature, either remotely or at the end user's location, by using troubleshooting and technical skills. Responds to situations where standard procedures have failed in isolating or fixing problem equipment or software installations, moves, and configuration changes. Maintains accurate information and data regarding end-user issues and inventory within a tracking system and according to policies and standards. Refers highly complex or unresolved problems to Engineer staff, or other appropriate resources.
What you will do: Creates user accounts, assigns rights for Windows, ID's and other applications, i.e. Outlook, Office, etc. Maintains broader scope of responsibilities based on system/application rights and access privileges. Provides accurate, timely, courteous and creative technical service to resolve end-user's computer and connectivity problems. Uses troubleshooting and analytical skills to diagnose, repair and test. Effectively communicates status with end-user customer, and documents status according to standard ServiceNow documentation procedures. Installs, configures, and deploys pc's using a predefined image and ISS (Information System Services) standard naming conventions. Establish network connections through punch down and cross connect locations. Installs peripheral equipment, to include printer assignments, and installs/testing multiuser applications. Moves PC's and peripheral equipment, such as printers and scanners. Coordinates moves involving multiple PC's, managing team resources and responsibilities, and establishing and monitoring project schedule. Manages a wide range of projects resulting from ServiceNow requests for hardware/software, installs/moves. These projects may last up to a six month period of time and may involve resources from other technical disciplines, other departments, management across the organization, and external vendors. Maintains and updates inventory documentations, populating all required fields, using standard naming conventions. Follows procedures and standards when decommissioning equipment for recycling. Responsible for ensuring data, keyboard, mouse and power cords/cables are safely secured and placed in confined locations to avoid any trip hazards. Remotely resolves end user issues, such as: software application issues, software to hardware issues, server issues (leave in) issues related to the integration and compatibility of applications. If unable to resolve remotely will escalate the issue to the Systems Support Team, server issues escalated to the Engineers, or other appropriate resources. Must be available by pager 24 hours-7 days a week per call schedule. What you will need: Required Education and/or Experience: A High School Diploma or GED Minimum one year of computer related experience Knowledge of Windows operating systems Preferred Education and/or Experience: Associate's degree in computer science or a related field Required License/Certification: A valid driver's license is required if the incumbent is selected to perform related duties at an off-site location. If the incumbent uses their personal vehicle, the incumbent must maintain automobile liability coverage as required by law and evidence of such coverage may be requested.
