NAU seeks a Manager to drive the development and implementation of Comunidad, Cultura, y Conexion (C3). C3 is a five-year program funded through the U.S. Department of Education seeking to increase student retention and access to postsecondary education. The program will coordinate educational support services in areas of academics, community building, finances, and well-being for Hispanic and first-generation students through a cohort-based freshmen and sophomore program with shared coursework, high impact practices, and wrap-around, coordinated services. To that end, C3 also provides training for faculty and staff while coordinating alignment of NAU’s social, emotional, academic, and financial support services to better meet student needs through development of an advisory group focused on institutional policies and procedures.
Under the direction of project leadership, the C3 Program Manager will oversee the budget and staffing requirements to ensure the program meets detailed objectives. The Manager will organize all activity components, supervise grant-related staff, and manage proposed retention strategies, while identifying new strategies to improve student outcomes and the teaching-learning process. Responsibilities will include staff supervision, program implementation leadership, student support, grant-related reporting, faculty and staff collaboration, and some general administrative support. The person who fills this position will also be responsible for ensuring cultural responsiveness and inclusion within all activities.
Program Management - 40%
Manage all aspects of the grant activities to ensure successful and timely completion of implementation strategies and approved objectives.With guidance from program leadership, the Program Manager performs analyses related to the planning, development, delivery, and monitoring of development programs and activities.Develops program content and training materials for C3 classes and C3 faculty/staff training.Assists in building and maintaining a C3 student cohort, as well the C3 Community of Practice.In consultation with project leadership, provides project leadership; allocates resources, establishes goals and prioritizes program activities.Prepares policy review documents and data systems analysis documents for the Advisory Board.Oversees all facets of the day-to-day operations of the assigned program activities to ensure compliance with university, state, and federal laws, policies, and regulations.Project, Grant & Fiscal Oversight - 25%
Manages and monitors the activity budget, prepare monthly budget summaries for the program leadership, maintain records of program activities, and help ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and institutional regulations.Leads annual work plan and budget development aimed at meeting C3 goals and objectives.Leads writing of project reports to meet requirements from the funding agency, as well as build materials that highlight project successes.Regularly manage project budgets, ensuring expenses are in alignment with program requirements; advises leadership on any discrepancies with expenditures.Management of Staff - 20%
Recruit, screen, select, train, and supervise activity staff.Provide leadership to activity personnel in the implementation of program strategies.Work with the program personnel team to coordinate services to students and training for faculty and staff.Work with program personnel to analyze and interpret evaluation data to make recommendations on how to improve the activities and program.Program Evaluation - 5%
Work with evaluators and provide input for the formative evaluation plan, ensure that required evaluation data is gathered.Analyze and interpret evaluation data in conjunction with the evaluation team to make recommendations and changes to activity.University and Community Liaison - 5%
Coordinate and participate in meetings or committees on behalf of the C3 to enhance University service to students.Serve as primary contact and coordinator for the C3 Advisory board.Provides guidance to faculty and staff on appropriate traditional and cultural activities, behaviors, and processes when interacting with multiple cultures.Other - 5%

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in related field.4 years of relevant experience.2 years of management or supervisory experience.Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.Preferred Qualifications
Master’s Degree.5 or more years’ experience in education-related work.Experience with Hispanic, first-generation, or low-income college students.Knowledge of current learning theories.Experience in leading teams and/or collaborative projects.Experience working with diverse populations.Ability to speak and write in Spanish.

Salary
Salary range begins at $63,000-$70,000. Annual salarycommensurate with candidate's qualifications and relatedexperience.
FLSA Status
This position is exempt from the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and therefore will not earn overtime or compensatory time for additional time worked.

This is a Service Professional (SPF) position. NAU offers an excellent benefit package including generous health, dental and vision insurance; participation in the Arizona State Retirement System or the Optional Retirement Program; 22 days of vacation and 10 holidays per year; and tuition reduction for employees and qualified dependents. New employees who choose to participate in the Optional Retirement Plan (ORP), which is an alternative to the ASRS plan for faculty and other appointed staff, will begin to participate on the first day of the pay period following election.
