Cybersecurity Applications Engineer, Tesla Energy

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Cybersecurity Engineer to join our Tesla Energy Applications team. As a Cybersecurity Application Engineer, you will be responsible for development, testing and validation of Cybersecurity features into Tesla Energy projects including utility-scale battery power plants. As a key technical member of the cross-functional Applications Engineering team within the Energy Projects group, you will be integral to Tesla's mission of accelerating the world's transition to sustainable energy.
Responsibilities
Support development of cybersecurity solutions that comply with applicable global standards such as NERC-CIP (North America), Australian Security of Critical Infrastructure (SOCI) Act, UK G99 (Europe)Support Tesla Energy's cybersecurity compliance efforts, including maintaining SOC 2 Type 2 certification, IEC 62443, and UL2941Facilitate implementation of cybersecurity measures required for critical infrastructure telemetry and remote accessDevelop and deploy monitoring tools and dashboards to enhance cybersecurity features and service efficiency for complex utility-scale battery projectsSupport Tesla Energy's vulnerability management including patch identification, testing and remediation plansAssess new cybersecurity requirements for Tesla Energy projects in contracting/ negotiation phaseSupport sales and sales engineering teams in distinguishing between regulatory and customer-specific requirementsSupport new Tesla Energy software features by writing specifications and test plans, assisting development and test efforts, managing deployment, and documenting new capabilitiesProvide technical support both internally and externally with customers throughout the sales and deployment of Tesla products into new and complex applicationsWork with cross functional internal teams and external parties to audit practices and implement improvements identifiedRequirements
Degree in relevant Engineering discipline with 3+ years' work experience, or equivalentStrong knowledge of cybersecurity of industrial control systems. Familiar with relevant Energy industry standards such as NERC-CIPStrong understanding of Energy systems including devices such as meters, inverters, SCADA controllers, and network systemsSkilled with automation and programming languages like Python, C, C++, RUST, GO etc.Strong understanding of controls and communication protocols such as Modbus, DNP3, IEC 61850, etc.Hands-on experience in implementing communication networks for critical infrastructure including multi-layer network architectureNetworking related certifications (CCNA, CCNP, etc) are a plusExperience with implementing industry standard cyber security requirements: DMZ, jump/ proxy servers, firewall rules, etc.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skillsSelf-motivated and able to work independently as well as part of a teamCompensation and BenefitsBenefits

$128,000 - $282,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
