The Controller at River Region Psychiatry is responsible for overseeing all financial operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, managing the accounting functions, and supporting the strategic financial planning of the organization. Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer, this role plays a key part in driving the financial strategy and operational success of the company.
Financial Reporting & Analysis:
Oversee the preparation of timely and accurate financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.Analyze financial data and provide insights to the executive team to support strategic decision-making.Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and other regulatory requirements.Budgeting & Forecasting:
Lead the annual budgeting process, including preparing detailed forecasts and financial models.Monitor budget performance and recommend corrective actions to meet financial objectives.Provide monthly and quarterly budget variance analysis to the COO and leadership.Accounting Operations:
Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger.Ensure accurate and timely processing of transactions and maintenance of financial records.Oversee the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes.Internal Controls & Compliance:
Develop, implement, and monitor internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with financial policies.Conduct regular audits of financial processes to identify and mitigate risks.Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.Team Leadership:
Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing finance and accounting team.Foster a collaborative and results-driven work environment.Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing feedback to team members.Financial Strategy & Planning:
Collaborate with the COO and executive team to develop and execute long-term financial strategies.Support mergers and acquisitions (M&A) activities, including financial due diligence and integration.Provide financial guidance on capital structure, financing options, and investment opportunities.System & Process Improvement:
Identify opportunities to streamline financial processes and improve efficiency.Oversee the implementation and maintenance of financial systems and software.Stay current on industry trends and best practices in financial management.Requirements
Education
Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance. MBA, Master's of Accounting, or CPA certification preferred.Experience/Skills
Minimum five years' experience as a Controller or similar finance leadership role within healthcare.Understands healthcare accounting and compensationIn-depth knowledge of accounting principles and financial regulations.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Excellent leadership and team management abilities.Effective communication and interpersonal skills.Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office Suite.
