Potter Anderson & Corroon LLP, a major Delaware law firm with a diverse business practice, is seeking a Marketing and Events Coordinator to join our firm. The Marketing and Events Coordinator will be a key member of the marketing and business development team with a major focus on planning, organizing, and executing various events that fall specifically under the marketing scope, including client seminars, webinars, conferences, community events, and firm-related social gatherings.

This position reports to the Director of Marketing and Business Development.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

Support the Director of Marketing and Business Development in day-to-day tasks, including but not limited to website maintenance, award submissions, and social media updates. Under the direction of the Director of Marketing and Business Development, collaborate with internal stakeholders and outside vendors to plan, implement, and execute all aspects of on- and off-site events, meetings, receptions, and seminars. Proactively coordinate all details and logistics associated with events and meetings, including researching and locating venues; reviewing RFPs and site recommendations; coordinating the negotiation of contracts, food, and beverage, audiovisual; securing on-site room holds; reviewing and updating RSVP lists; coordinating speaker, guest, and VIP needs, etc. Coordinate the production and compilation of event materials and handouts such as invitations, presentation packets, evaluation forms, name tags, signage, follow-up mailings, and any last-minute requests. Create event budgets and cost comparisons for upcoming events. Independently manage various projects outside the scope of events, which may include the holiday card program or the promotions inventory for the department. Develop and maintain relationships with hotels, off-site venues, vendors, suppliers, and caterers. Provide support and expertise for all events as needed. Process all vendor invoices. Perform other marketing and business development duties as assigned. RE

BA/BS in marketing, communications, hospitality management or a related field strongly preferred. The ideal candidate will have 1-3 years of meeting/event planning experience in a law firm or professional services firm. Strong attention to detail and ability to multi-task and handle competing demands. Superior written and verbal communication skills, including editing and proofreading. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to maintain effective working relationships and communicate verbally and in writing in a professional, courteous manner with clients, firm members, and other business contacts. Ability to handle work well under pressure with a professional and positive attitude and meet strict deadlines. Flexibility to work additional hours, including early mornings and evenings, as necessary. Self-starter who can work independently with minimal supervision
