The IP Transfer Analyst will assist the IP Transfer Team with reviewing and processing new intellectual property files in accordance with the IP file transfer procedures to ensure accurate and timely processing of incoming client files to the Intellectual Property Department. The IP Transfer Analyst will perform docket file audits to assess current prosecution status and upcoming due dates, and assist the Docketing Department with entering file data and due dates into the IP Transfer Database and Docket system. The Analyst will have a strong knowledge of IP prosecution, IP docketing and an understanding of the firm's overall client/matter intake, records management policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
Assist with Foley docket system mapping and client file data imports, including verifying case bibliographic and priority relationships per public dataPerform docket audits on new IP files for current status, upcoming due dates and next action due; and assist docket team with inputting file data into the Foley IP Transfer Database and Foley docket systemPerform quality review of fellow Transfer Analyst audits to identify any necessary corrections, and to assist with ongoing training needsAssist IP Transfer team and Loss Prevention Department to review discrepancy and inventory reports to verify data is accurateUse advanced knowledge of patent and trademark rules to ensure deadlines are properly docketedMonitor docket as needed to complete file transfer actions timelyKeep the IP Transfer Team and all attorneys affected by the transfer project apprised of new developments in the file transferPerform other duties as needed to support the IP Transfer TeamPerform other related duties as assignedQualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree or technical training beyond high school is preferredMinimum three (3) years of U.S. and foreign patent and/or trademark IP experience requiredProficiency with U.S. and foreign patent and trademark office websites and the ability to research and locate dataAdvanced paralegal, formalities and IP docket experience and working knowledge of billing and records software #LI-Hybrid
Pursuant to the Washington DC Pay Transparency Law, the salary range for this Washington DC based position is between $81,900 - $133,700. These figures represent the full compensation range of this position. The actual offered amount will be determined based on the following factors: education, experience, geographic market, and internal pay equity at Foley.
