WUCF TV & FM are Central Florida's public media stations, licensed to the University of Central Florida. As the area's only PBS-affiliate and jazz station, we work to serve the 16th largest media market in the country.

The Opportunity:
The Digital Communications Manager oversees all internal and external communications for WUCF. This role involves developing and implementing digital strategies to drive audience growth across various platforms. The Manager supervises a team responsible for executing communications, including newsletters, website, social media, and other digital channels. Additionally, they analyze communication effectiveness, establish future direction for programs, and ensure brand consistency across all platforms.
Classification Title: Communications Manager
Responsibilities:Works under the supervision of the Content Director to strategically position WUCF as an essential media service to the Central Florida community. Creates digital and communications strategies that support WUCF programs and mission.
Supervises and manages all digital platforms, for all WUCF entities working with WUCF producers and internal stakeholders to develop show-specific experiences. Oversees and implements content guidelines, including voice and tone, making sure content is optimized for multiple platforms, for SEO and is consistent with WUCF Brand. Coordinates brand consistency across all platforms.
Manages departmental activities by scheduling work assignments, setting priorities, and directing work of staff. Establishes performance goals and measures to evaluate success of assigned area of responsibility.
Using Google Analytics, provide reports and detailed analyses of content and content initiatives to make data-driven decisions.
Participates in strategic planning and assists the Content Director in developing and implementing the overall departmental strategy.
Executes daily publishing, production, and administration of WUCF.org using the WUCF CMS. Update the homepage and main landing pages of the site.
Oversee deployment of various weekly and monthly electronic newsletters from various departments. Conduct testing and expanding tracking around newsletters to improve engagement and traffic.
Interfaces with PBS and NPR nationally to keep current about national promotions, digital opportunities, training, grant opportunities, and more. Keeps current about public media best practices and FCC regulations as they apply to communications, social media, and digital engagement efforts.
Minimum Qualifications :
Bachelor's or Masters degree and 4+ years or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219. Click here for more information.
Preferred Qualifications :
A bachelor's degree in communication, journalism, digital marketing, public relations or comparable area of study.
Experience in emerging digital platforms, apps, search engine optimization, content management systems, and social media practices.
Proven experience working across departments including with various stakeholders at all levels of an organization.
Experience using reporting and metrics to make recommendations to department leaders and/or senior leadership.
Previous leadership experience.
