The Opportunity :The University of Central Florida's Office of Institutional Equity (OIE) seeks an Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) Investigator to investigate complaints of violations of University policies and regulations based on discrimination, discriminatory harassment, and retaliation. The EEO investigator will report to the Director of the Office of Institutional Equity and will be responsible for conducting prompt, thorough, and impartial investigations, including preparation of concise and accurate investigative reports.The successful candidate will act as an impartial, neutral investigator throughout all aspects of the Investigation process, and ensure that all Investigation activities and OIE decisions are consistent with University policies and procedures. The EEO investigator will conduct inquiries, perform investigations, provide university-wide training, facilitate employees' requests for accommodations, and provide information to students and employees regarding compliance with the University's nondiscrimination policies and regulations, as well as civil rights laws and regulations.Responsibilities:Assess inquiries and complaints for appropriate university response. Develop and execute investigative plans, conduct interviews, gather and review relevant documentation, and prepare investigative reports, action plans, and follow ups. Ensure appropriate case documentation and close out of all investigations in OIE's database.
Working with the ADA Coordinator and Deputy ADA Coordinator, facilitate employee requests for accommodations.
Assist in the development and execution of training materials regarding the prevention of discrimination and harassment, reporting requirements, and how to appropriately report concerns to OIE.
Assist with the compilation and review of data to identify trends, gaps, and weaknesses in support of non-discrimination efforts and internal and external reporting. Assist the OIE director with other matters including special projects and studies, policy reviews, and committee participation.
Assist with providing guidance to management and employees regarding compliance with applicable nondiscrimination and accommodation laws, regulations and policies.
Minimum Qualifications :Bachelor's or Masters degree and 2+ years or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219.Click here for more information.Preferred Qualifications :Prefer three years of recent and substantive work experience conducting employment based discrimination and discriminatory harassment investigations.
Strong command and working knowledge of basic and advanced principles of federal and state nondiscrimination laws and employment discrimination, including but not limited to Title VI, Title VII, Title IX, and the Americans with Disabilities Act.
Superb written and verbal communication skills.
Strong work ethic and attention to detail; highly motivated, self-directed execution of routine and special projects.
Demonstrated ability to exercise a high level of discretion and good judgment, and ability to quickly establish credibility and productive working relationships with a broad range of constituents, including administration, faculty, staff, student groups, and unions.
