Job Description

Position Summary:

The Associate Director (Compliance, Systems and Reporting) will serve as an active member of a service oriented, dynamic, and student-centered Student Financial Services team. The primary responsibilities of the Associate Director will be to implement and maintain software systems to support the work of the department; compile, analyze, and report financial aid data in a timely manner; manage quality control and data standards; serve as compliance manager for the department; and other administrative responsibilities as assigned by the director. The Associate Director maintains a small financial aid caseload.

Primary Position Responsibilities:Obtain, keep current, and fully leverage knowledge of business processes to administer, standardize, document, and train staff on departmental systems.Ensure data standards and monitor quality control. Manage complex system communication flows and integrations through multiple channels among multiple constituents. Provide expert knowledge and development within PowerFAIDS for reporting, analyzing, automating, and processing of financial aid applications and information.Develop reports and provide data as needed within the office and for colleagues within the College. Write and pull all data reports for external constituents (including, but not limited to, NCAA, COFHE, FISAP, CDS).Monitor regulatory compliance pertaining to federal and state student aid programs, cash management, collections and aged balances, and other departmental functions. Provide research assistance on regulations and contribute to the maintenance of the policy and procedure manual. Provide recommendations to departmental management regarding compliance solutions and improvements.Responsible for a small reading caseload. Make professional judgment decisions within established federal, state, and institutional guidelines.Supervise 1 direct report and actively participate in the departmental leadership team. Provide input into the development of policies, procedures and programs in support of the departmental and divisional goals.Assist with administration of other office processes, as assigned.Supervisory Responsibilities

Bachelor's degree is requiredSkills and Abilities

Minimum of 3 years of experience in a higher education setting and/or one of the areas that comprises Student Financial Services (financial aid, student accounts/tuition payments, student employment, educational financing) or related field; experience & demonstrated knowledge of the fundamentals of needs analysis (federal and/or institutional) is preferred.Experience with a wide variety of software and database applications, such as PowerFAIDS, Workday, Google, and Microsoft Office.Ability to work independently, but to also contribute positively to a team approach. Demonstrated experience in providing, and motivating others to provide superior customer service, excellent communication skills (both written and verbal), and strong group presentation skills.Company Description
