POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for day-to-day analysis and research of compliance risk challenges through review of transactions, accounts, processes, forms and policies. The Compliance Analyst I ensures the timely notification, mitigation, resolution and reporting of existing, emerging and upstream regulatory risks and other identified issues.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Conducts detailed compliance reviews according to annual compliance review plan. Performs and documents compliance reviews to ensure adequate compliance with laws and regulations.Escalate concerns to Compliance Manager timely.Compiles various types of internal compliance reports.Participate in projects supporting the overall compliance program.Assist in the preparation for federal compliance examinations and internal/external audits.Monitor new and proposed regulations.Research consulting questions as assigned.Develop and maintain comprehensive job knowledge.Identify compliance controls and develops strategies to ensure appropriate testing of controls.Monitor remediation activities of identified issues, and escalation of past due items.Recommend new testing based on changes to existing products, services, or business process or based on changes to existing laws or regulations.Work with business line stakeholders on all compliance related mandates and initiatives to ensure a cohesive, coordinated approach that ensures the organization is taking appropriate steps to achieving compliance.Analyze, research, and lead the resolution of potential compliance issues by reviewing exposure, remediation plans, and managing to full compliance with applicable rules and regulations.Conduct detailed analysis of identified compliance mandates or changes and provide direction with the implementation of resolutions for production problems and/or questions.Provide subject matter expertise with regard to compliance topics.Identify and escalate current and potential operational impacts to business unit managers and compliance department management.Document operational/procedural impacts and changes that need to be developed and implemented in support of overall compliance project completion.
