Basic FunctionThe Director of Alumni Engagement Programs is responsible for successfully executing the strategic plan priorities focused on numerous areas of alumni programming. The role will supervise, manage and coach alumni engagement staff who manage programming designed to expand and deepen the affinity and ties that Denison alumni have for their alma mater and each other.
The position is a key member of the Alumni and Family Engagement (AFE) leadership team and works collaboratively within the AFE department and the Advancement division to deliver strategic, successful and effective alumni engagement initiatives.
Essential Job FunctionsDevelop and oversee the strategic plan priorities focused on alumni programming. Ensure successful and relevant programming and experiences that aligns with the ages and life stages of the Denison alumni network.
Collaborate with direct reports and provide guidance in the development, implementation and management of strategic initiatives for respective program areas.
Lead, coach and mentor team members responsible for regional and lifelong engagement, early engagement, affinity-based engagement, and volunteer engagement.
Partner with Sr. Associate Director of AFE Marketing & Communications, Advancement Communications and University Communications to deploy strategic and effective communications.
Successfully partner and collaborate effectively with department, division and University colleagues to deliver high-quality and relevant engagement programs.
In collaboration with direct reports, develop and manage program area budgets, which focus resources in ways that maximize return on investment.
Represent Alumni & Family Engagement and Institutional Advancement at events as necessary and ensure a high level of customer service for both internal and external stakeholders.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum QualificationsBachelor's degree. Minimum of 7 years in Alumni Engagement or similarfield; experience working with volunteers; experience in supervising andcoaching staff for success.
Preferred QualificationsMaster's degree. Minimum of 10 years in Alumni Engagement or similarfield; volunteer management experience; experience in supervising andcoaching staff for success.
