Organizational BackgroundGlobal Labor Justice (GLJ) brings strategic capacity to cross sectoral work on global value chains, capital markets, and labor migration corridors. Our campaigns and projects hold global corporations accountable for labor rights violations in their supply chains; advance policies and laws that protect decent work and just migration; and strengthen freedom of association, new forms of bargaining, and worker organizations.ResponsibilitiesThe Development Associate is responsible for supporting the implementation of GLJ’s strategic fundraising program in support of the organization’s vision, mission, and strategic priorities. The Development Associate position reports to the Development Manager and will have opportunities to work with the Chief Operating Officer. The Development Associate will provide administrative support to GLJ staff as necessary to support fundraising and development activities.Core responsibilities include:FundraisingLead drafting and mailing donation materials, including solicitations, donation acknowledgement letters, thank you cards, and receipts, under the advisement of the Development Manager.Support collection of program updates necessary for fundraising activities, including giving requests, grant proposals and reports, and communications to existing and prospective funders.Submit and monitor matching gift donations.Provide writing and coordination support to the Development Manager on grant writing and grants management activities.Respond to phone, mail, and email inquiries about gift giving and coordinate with appropriate team members as necessary.Support Development Manager in developing and implementing fundraising projects and programs designed to increase the visibility of the organization and enhance giving, such as annual giving campaigns, organizational newsletter, gift-in-kind programs, and special events.Conduct prospect research, including on institutional and individual donors, to support execution of organization’s fundraising strategy and provide meeting briefs.Stay current with fundraising trends including, but not limited to, data management software, research methodologies, and stewardship best practices.Work with the Finance and Operations Department to ensure accurate recordkeeping.Database ManagementMaintain the accuracy and integrity of the organization’s donor CRM, including gift and membership entry, maintenance of mailing lists, etc. in conformance with GLJ systems and procedures.Coordinate with program staff and operations team to set up dedicated event pages, email blasts, and fundraising campaigns using organization’s donor CRM.Manage data requests for appeals, acquisition, newsletters, events, and other activities.Provide monthly financial updates, revenue benchmarks, and fundraising trends.Process donations and prepare acknowledgement letters in a timely manner.Produce donor reports, mailing lists, and other data requests as needed.Update and maintain organization’s donor CRM use guidelines.AdministrativeSupport stewardship of donor relationships, including tracking and coordinating communications, with individual and institutional donors.Support development, regular maintenance, and execution of quarterly development calendar to ensure accurate tracking of relevant proposals and reporting deadlines to facilitate work planning.Coordinate, attend, and keep an organized record of development team meetings.Receive and add all mail donations into the organization’s CRM.Maintain original documentation files for all donations.Maintain an orderly departmental filing system.Provide support, as needed, to development contractors/vendors.Support the monthly reconciliation process with the Finance Department.Other administrative tasks to support the work of the Development Team, as necessary.QualificationsThe ideal candidate will have a commitment to supporting an equitable global economy through defending worker rights and building worker power and will bring many of the following qualifications:Strong attention to detail with a high level of integrity and organizational capacity to manage multiple projects.Excellent interpersonal communication skills, both written and oral.Demonstrable skills in writing for both technical and general audiences.Comfortable working under multiple rigid deadlines.Self-motivated and self -starter, with proven ability to take ownership, initiative, and accountability.Ability to manage competing priorities often across functional and operational lines.Experience providing efficient, timely, and reliable support to internal and external stakeholders.Working proficiency with a wide range of organizational technology such as Microsoft Suite, Slack, GSuite, Airtable, TrueGivers, and CRM systems, particularly NeonCRM.Sense of humor to maintain perspective and balance.Bilingual, bi-cultural experience is a plus.Experience working at a union or grassroots organization is a plus.Knowledge of the funding space for advancing worker rights globally is a plus.Experience working in a remote or hybrid office environment at a global organization is a plus.Job status:

$65,000-$75,000 USD salary for U.S. employees depending on qualifications and experience.
