Document Analyst

Reporting to the AVP, Document Management, this position analyzes loan documents, ensuring the integrity and compliance of all mortgage documentation. This role is responsible for scrutinizing complex financial documents, ensuring adherence to regulatory standards, and enhancing the documentation processes.
This position requires a strong level of analytical acumen and meticulous attention to detail, as they are expected to prepare detailed reports and summaries of document findings and status updates for management. The Document Analyst will directly impact the efficiency and reliability of our loan processing, contributing to our reputation for excellence in the mortgage industry and positively impacting document management operations to deliver exceptional service to our clients.
What you will do for Fay:
Review and analyze a variety of financial documents, including mortgage agreements, loan applications, title documents, and insurance policiesPrepare detailed reports and summaries of document findings, discrepancies, and compliance issues for management.Develop and present regular reports on the status of loan documentation, highlighting trends, common issues, and areas for improvementEnsure the accuracy and completeness of all documentation, identifying discrepancies or missing informationVerify the authenticity and validity of documents, including signatures and notarizationsCollaborate with internal teams, including loan officers, underwriters, and legal counsel, to resolve document-related issues and discrepanciesAssist in the development and implementation of document management policies and procedures to improve efficiency and accuracyAssist with training new team members as neededDevelop domain knowledge of Fay's business to include an understanding of department goals and company objectivesMaintain broad influence through ongoing development of relationships across the organizationEnsure compliance with Fay's policies, processes, and practices, and regulatory requirements. Successfully complete all department and company required trainingModel ethical standards, professionalism and code of conductDemonstrate behaviors that align with Fay's Values and Operating PrinciplesPerform other duties and responsibilities as assignedWhat you will bring to Fay:
Bachelor's degree in Business or related field (or equivalent combination of years of experience with High School diploma/ GED) required2+ years' experience in mortgage document management roles required2+ years of experience in the financial services or mortgage industry3+ years' experience in a document analysis roleDemonstrated experience working successfully in a fast-paced work environmentPrior experience successfully managing analysis-related projects and initiatives with cross-functional teams preferredStrong customer service skillsWorking knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)Strong verbal and written communication skillsStrong listening skills with the ability to facilitate meetings and effectively lead discussionsSolid interpersonal skillsDemonstrated analytical skills and problem-solving abilitiesStrong decision-making skills with the ability to appropriately exercise good judgementStrong time management skillsAbility to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environmentCustomer service/ client orientationResults orientationStrong attention to detailStrong compliance orientationFlexible, open to change, ability to learn new things quicklyCollaborative work style; team-orientedSelf-directed; ability to proactively ask questions and surface issues/ concernsProfessional maturity, integrity, ability to maintain confidential data and information
