Senior Data Science Analyst

to join our team!

Reporting to the SVP, Data Science, this position is responsible for transforming data into actionable insights that drive strategic decision-making across the organization. The Senior Data Science Analyst utilizes advanced data science methodologies and leads and mentors junior analysts while managing complex projects.

The position oversees the development and execution of advanced analytical models and machine learning algorithms. This role collaborates with internal departments and stakeholders to ensure data science and analytics initiatives are integrated with other business processes. Additionally, this position drives the implementation of innovative data solutions that enhance business operations and outcomes.

What you will do for Fay:

Oversee the development and execution of advanced analytical models and machine learning algorithmsManage end-to-end data science projects, from hypothesis formulation through to model deployment and monitoringProvide high-level data-driven insights that inform strategic business decisionsEnsure projects align with business objectives and deliver measurable valueEnsure data integrity, model accuracy, and the ethical use of data in all projectMentor junior staff, fostering their professional growth in data scienceCollaborate with other departments to ensure that data science and analytics initiatives are integrated with other business processesChampion innovation by proposing and implementing new data-driven solutionsCommunicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders, including senior management, to ensure that data science and analytics insights are understood and acted uponImplement best practices for data governance and complianceMaintain knowledge of current trends in data science, machine learning, and AI, and integrate these into our analytical frameworkDevelop domain knowledge of Fay's business to include an understanding of organizational objectives.Maintain broad influence through ongoing development of relationships across the organizationEnsure compliance with Fay's policies, processes, and practices. Successfully complete all department and company-required trainingModel Fay's Values, Operating Principles, ethical standards, professionalism and code of conductPerform other duties and responsibilities as assignedWhat you will bring to Fay:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or related field requiredMaster's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or related field preferred5+ years' experience in data science, analytics, or related field required3+ years' experience in a senior or leading role in data science, or a related field requiredAdvanced working knowledge in analytics, statistics, machine learning, and data mining requiredAdvanced working knowledge in relevant programming languages, tools, and technologies (e.g., Python, R, Hadoop, Spark, etc.) requiredProficient in data visualization tools (PowerBI, Tableau) and database management (SQL, NoSQL)Certifications in data science or analytics preferredExperience in the financial services or mortgage industry preferStrong leadership, project management and team building abilitiesAbility to analyze and interpret data to identify opportunities and propose solutionsStrong analytical skills coupled with sound judgementStrong problem-solving skills; ability to develop creative solutions to complex business problemsStrong communication and collaboration skills; ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholdersStrong verbal and written communication skillsStrong project management skillsStrong attention to detail; strong compliance orientation; high quality of work productAbility to prioritize; effective time managementStrong interpersonal skillsCollaborative work style; high team-orientationOpen to change; agile; high learning agilitySelf-directed; ability to proactively ask questions and surface issues/ concernsProfessional maturity, integrity, ability to maintain confidential data and informationStrong business acumen; strong fiscal and technical aptitudeStrong skills in MS Word Excel and PowerPoint
