We are seeking a skilled and experienced Human Resources Manager to support the Human Resources team in managing the day-to-day operations of HR including dynamic team management, payroll, benefits, talent acquisition, employee relations and engagement through the employee life cycle. This position will play an integral leadership role in working with the HR Director to launch and manage key HR initiatives.

Our staff:

Vineyard Columbus is a staff-led church, with a system of accountability for senior leadership through a church council. Our senior pastors, Eric and Julia Pickerill, lead with a Senior Leadership Team that consists of staff pastors and directors.

Our staff is made up of over 180 employees (around 55% full-time) from all different ages and backgrounds and on any given day you'll find them serving in our Mobile Food Pantry, running payroll, caring for or securing our buildings, coordinating discipleship events, in a weekly tactical meeting, teaching in a classroom, meeting with and training volunteers, preparing for the coming weekend service across one of our six campuses across Central Ohio, or engaged in a number of other ways they each serve to carry out the mission of Vineyard Columbus.

What you'll do:

Team Management & Leadership:

Supervise and provide daily coaching, guidance and support to the Payroll & Benefits Assistant and the HR Generalist to ensure implementation of best practices and appropriate solutions to complex questions and issues as they arise; and partner with the HR Director to develop and accomplish department goals bygalvanizing the team to keep projects and annual processes on schedule, providing coaching and clarity as needed.Payroll Management:

Oversee bi-weekly payroll and corresponding financial reporting, which includes navigating complex tax laws for non-profits and clergy. Serve as the backup for processing biweekly payroll for all staff in ADP.Benefits Administration:

Manage and oversee the day-to-day of benefit administration, assess annual benefit renewals alongside the HR Director, and maintain compliance with 403(b) contributions, FMLA, BWC, and any corresponding laws.HR Operations:

Work with the team to provide timely responses to HR inquiries, ensure organization of team shared files and inboxes, and confirm personnel records are kept accurate and up to date.Employee Relations:

Provide guidance and support to employees and managers on HR-related matters throughout the employee life cycle, ensuring a work environment consistent with our five principles.Compliance & Legal Support:

Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; review and propose adjustments to our employee handbook as appropriate. Stay current on trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law, especially as it relates to nonprofit and religious organizations.What you'll bring:

Five years of professional Human Resources experience, including in-depth experience with payroll and benefits; management experience preferredBachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Psychology, or a related field preferredSHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP highly desiredIntermediate level proficiency in Microsoft Excel required. Proficient in data manipulation using pivot tables, advanced formulas (e.g., VLOOKUP, IF), and managing multiple worksheets efficiently.Experience working and leading in multiethnic and multigenerational settings and applying cultural intelligence to interpersonal, negotiation and conflict resolution skillsAbility to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate with diligent follow-throughDemonstrated ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentialityThorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulationsProficiency with or the ability to quickly learn ADP as our HCMExcellent verbal and written communication skills, organizational skills and attention to detailStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsSatisfactory background check required for all positionsWe offer excellent benefits including:
