Our organization supports artists, offers cultural experiences, and engages diverse audiences through visual and performing arts, exhibitions, workshops, and special events. We are seeking a passionate and detail-oriented Development Associate Intern to assist our fundraising and development efforts.Position OverviewThe Development Associate Intern will work closely with the Executive Director to support various fundraising activities, including donor outreach, event coordination, grant writing, and database management. This internship offers hands-on experience in nonprofit development within the arts sector, providing valuable skills for individuals pursuing a career in arts administration or fundraising.Key Responsibilities:Donor Relations:
Assist with donor communication, including acknowledgment letters, thank you notes, and updates on organizational impact.Help cultivate and maintain relationships with current and prospective donors.Conduct prospect research on potential individual, corporate, and foundation donors.
Event Support:
Assist in the planning and execution of fundraising events, including galas, auctions, and donor receptions.Coordinate event logistics such as invitations, RSVPs, vendor communication, and on-site support during events.
Grant Writing & Research:
Support grant proposal development by assisting with research, drafting content, and preparing materials for submission.Track grant application deadlines and reporting requirements.
Database Management:
Update and maintain donor records in the organization’s donor database.Ensure data accuracy and integrity, including inputting donation information and tracking donor engagement.
Administrative Support:
Provide general administrative support, including scheduling meetings, preparing reports, and assisting with other office duties as needed.
Qualifications:Education:
Currently enrolled in a college or university program (undergraduate or graduate) in a related field (e.g., Arts Administration, Nonprofit Management, Communications, Marketing, or Business).Passion for the Arts:
Strong interest in arts, culture, and community engagement.Strong Communication Skills:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with an eye for detail and accuracy.Organizational Skills:
Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines.Tech-Savvy:
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is required; familiarity with donor databases is a plus but not required.Team Player:
Ability to work collaboratively with staff, volunteers, and donors while maintaining a professional and positive attitude.Research & Writing:
Strong research and writing skills, with an interest in learning about grant writing and donor cultivation.
