Project Delivery Leader - Surveys

As a Project Delivery Leader for our Survey Department, you will support the Department Manager with management of survey contracts and projects and provide quality assurance/quality control to our Plats and Surveys team. Our Survey Department provides land surveying, mapping and other related services for transportation, environmental, utility, and institution/developer projects. You will be responsible for scheduling, budgeting and leading field crews, survey technicians and other team members to complete and deliver land surveys, boundary determination, computations, plat development and mapping. You will also support the department manager with business development, contract management, proposal preparation and department growth.Essential FunctionLead and manage contracts, tasks and field and office staffCollaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure seamless coordination and successful project deliveryManage client relationships and serve as primary point of contact for surveying servicesImplement and follow RK&K quality control standards and practicesIdentify and pursue business development opportunities including the acquisition of new clients and the expansion of services to existing clientsMonitor project budgets, schedules and department resourcesMonitor industry trends, advancements and industry best practicesFoster a culture of team and staff development, encouraging innovation, efficiency, and professional development and licensingDevelop and implement strategic plans and goals for the survey department
Required Skills and ExperienceBachelors degree in Surveying or related fieldRegistered Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) in Maryland, Delaware and/or Pennsylvania or the ability to obtain within 6 months of hireMinimum ten (10) years of professional land surveying experience; preferably for MDOT SHA, DelDOT, PennDOT and other local public works and public agencies
Preferred Skills and ExperienceKnowledge of land surveying laws, regulations, and industry standardsTrack record of delivering high-quality surveying services for transportation, utility, environmental and development projectsProject management expertise, including budgeting, scheduling, resource allocation, utilization, and risk managementExcellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact with clients and internal/external team membersExperience in contract management and business development
