POSITION SUMMARY

Mission YMCA is seeking After School Program Leaders for the 2024-25 School Year at the following program sites:Dolores Huerta Elementary School - 65 Chenery St, San Francisco, CA 94131Hillcrest Elementary School - 810 Silver Ave, San Francisco, CA 94134Monroe Elementary School - 260 Madrid St, San Francisco, CA 94112Sunnyside Elementary School - 250 Foerster St, San Francisco, CA 94112Harvey Milk Civil Rights Academy (K-5th) - 4235 19th St, San Francisco, CA 94114YMCA After School Program Leader provides meaningful and enriching opportunities for youth in YMCA programs that are offered at local elementary and middle schools. The Program Leader will help students develop and strengthen academic, physical, and social skills by providing assistance, tutoring, and mentorship in the After School Program. Program Leaders will provide academic enrichment and tutoring in classroom groups of up to 20 students, as well as organize and provide outdoor recreational activities in the school yards. Individuals hired for this position will work under the supervision of the Program Site Coordinators and Directors, and will need to be flexible, willing to take initiative, be punctual, and able to make a commitment to work throughout the entire school year.

Salary Range: $19.50 to $22 per hour

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum 18 years of age for elementary school programsAt least 2 years of college (48 units), AA degree, or a Pass on After School For All-ExCEL Qualification Exam (No Child Left Behind-NCLB)Must have experience working with youth (Elementary or Middle School)Must be highly motivated to provide quality program opportunities to youthMust be a team playerKnowledge or expertise in youth developmentMust be comfortable leading physical activities with youthMust be available daily Monday-Friday during youth program hours; varies 1:00-6:00 pmMust be willing to participate in bi-annual evaluations and supervision meetings as neededTB Test clearancePREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalentBilingual skills in Spanish, Cantonese, Mandarin, or other languages strongly preferredKnowledge of arts, dance, drama, or sportsConnections in the local San Francisco community
