Charlotte Athletics and Legends formed a partnership to help lead sales strategy and execution as well as revenue driven communication campaigns in support of the new premium and general seating associated with the renovation of Jerry Richardson Stadium, all ticketed sports, and annual fundraising opportunities. This will be achieved with a focus on data analytics & insights, enhancing the customer experience, and accurate and real time reporting and analysis.
The partnership will take a customized and holistic approach for identifying new, engaging, and entertaining platforms for 49er fans to connect with Charlotte athletics and position the entire department for success and growth in the evolving collegiate athletics landscape.
THE ROLE
The Sr Manager, Sales will lead the Legends engagement on the ground at Charlotte, while reporting to the Vice President, Collegiate Partnerships. Must be comfortable communicating across multiple areas of the business and will work closely with Charlotte Athletic Department and Legends leadership teams. This person will be responsible for developing an annual strategy to drive campaigns to grow both participation and financial support within Charlotte Athletics, Ticketing and Premium Seating programs. You will be responsible for developing and implementing sales, marketing, and communication strategies to drive revenue for upcoming capital project associated with Jerry Richardson Stadium for Charlotte Athletics.
The Sr Manager, Sales will be responsible for managing a sales team generating revenue around season ticket sales, Premium Seating, group ticket sales, and creation of special individual and high dollar value ticket packages and offerings. They will work diligently to advance and support all Charlotte 49ers Athletic Programs and Charlotte 49ers Athletic Foundation. This position will be responsible for managing our team who are responsible for engaging with existing Charlotte Athletics donors and ticket holders, while also identifying new prospects for Charlotte Athletics Ticketing & Premium Seating campaigns. The Sr Manager will work in conjunction with the Charlotte Athletic Ticketing, Development, Marketing and Communication teams to plan and execute both holistic ticketing, Premium Seating, Corporate Hospitality, and philanthropic campaigns via telephone, in-person events, email, and social media. This position must be well-versed in industry best practices and constantly evaluate ways to ensure that the Charlotte Athletics is best positioned to provide our student-athletes with the necessary resources to perform at the highest level on the fields of competition and in the classroom.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Develop relationships with other departments within Charlotte Athletic Department including the Charlotte Ticket Office, Marketing, Strategic Communications, Development and other External Relations units to ensure a robust, donor-centric approach to all ticket sales and fundraising efforts.
Collaborate with the management team to strategically track and analyze results of ticketing and fundraising campaigns in order to maximize opportunities and efficiencies.
Strategize, maintain, and execute a 30-60-90-120 day calendar of sales timelines.
Recruit, hire, assist, train, manage, and mentor team members on strategy, call scripts, and sales presentations.
Utilize CRM system to manage campaigns, pipelines, sales process, and activity.
Due to the nature of this project, the candidate must be willing to work non-traditional hours, weekends and game days.
Participate in events, promotions, client entertainment and other activities as required.
Manage and lead all different business units and individuals within our team to ensure they are meeting and exceeding all outlined goals and responsibilities.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s Degree
Minimum of 5-6 years of relevant experience.
Experience within Athletic Department ticket sales and / or development organizations preferred
Experience overseeing a sales staff on a professional or collegiate sports level preferred
Ability to strategize towards achieving big picture initiatives while possessing necessary attention to detail to ensure high level execution each step of the way.
Experience selling five and six figure premium ticketing/seating deals in the sports and entertainment industry.
Proficient in CRM (Sales Force) and ticketing platforms (Paciolan)
Candidate should possess both the personal and professional communication skills to interface with all levels of a company, both internally and externally.
Data and analytics minded sales leader
Motivated self-starter, with exceptional organization, strategic thinking and personal leadership skills.
