Position Summary
To purchase goods and services for ProEnergy Services PowerFLX Division in an efficient manner following established procedures and in an economic manner through vendor negotiations.
Position Responsibilities Responsible for sourcing, quoting and placement of purchase orders including indirect (non-production) material and services. Negotiate pricing with suppliers based on volume, delivery, quality, and customer service. Manage and expedite purchase orders to ensure suppliers meet on time delivery requirements. Responsible for purchasing high volume hardware with blanket purchase orders or vendor managed inventory. Collaborating with PowerFLX on forecast demand planning on long lead time items Work with Quality Manager and suppliers on cost of failure recovery. Investigate new sources of materials and services to drive better cost, delivery, and quality. Develop, initiate, and maintain effective and professional relationships with current and potential suppliers. Maintain procurement records, such as items or services purchased, costs, delivery, product quality or performance, and inventories. Responsible for support and guidance to PowerFLX Engineering, Project Managers, and management on information, implementation, and administration of contract/subcontract procedure. Responsible for creating purchase orders and management of repair components. Must be able to manage budgets and avoid delay costs including shipping. Proactively resolve grievances, warranty claims, quality non-conformance, or delivery issues with suppliers. Ability to interface effectively with Manufacturing, Engineering, Finance and Program Management functions. Negotiate with suppliers on high cost, long lead time, limited source components. Experience purchasing hardware with sub-supplier scope and lead times up to 12 months. Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in business and/or 3-5 years of progressive purchasing experience. Knowledge of economics and budgeting. Strong negotiation skills; strong decision making and problem-solving capabilities. Strong communications skills. Ability to read engineered drawings. Technical competence including understanding software, hardware, networks, etc. US work authorization is a precondition of employment. The company will not consider candidates who require sponsorship for a work-authorized visa. Successful candidate will need to satisfactorily complete pre-employment drug screen and background check.
