Position Summary
The Treasurer maintains stewardship for financial assets and debt including overall leadership of the cash management, debt management and investment management functions of the organization and its affiliated entities. The Treasurer will ensure the maintenance of corporate liquidity and financial stability; develop and manage strategies, operations, policies and budgets relating to treasury activities; and direct development and revision of financial policies for capital structure, working capital, treasury operations, interest rate risk management, and insurance risk management. Thorough engagement in the operations of the company to drive various forms of Working Capital improvement. Additionally, The Treasurer will direct capital markets, borrowing, investing, treasury operations, real estate, financial risk management and corporate finance initiatives.
The Treasurer supervises the maintenance of internal controls designed to safeguard corporate assets and the integrity of its fiscal systems. Finally, this role will lead a team of financial professionals while developing, mentoring, and retaining talent.
Duties and ResponsibilitiesOversee the daily cash and investment management strategy to ensure optimal operating liquidity and to meet all debt obligations; identify and growth strategy.Analyze the company's performance regarding assets, debts, and cash flow to provide recommendations for improvement; provide strategic guidance around capital financing options to support company growth needs.Convert the treasury operation and organization into an upper quartile functioning unit.Design and implement strategies relating to all aspects of the forecasting, optimal cash balance, and optimal mix of debt structures.Manage the company's long and short-term debt and monitor the markets for opportunities to minimize interest rate risk.Execute acquisitions, divestitures and/or related financing activities.Oversee A/P and A/R function, solidifying roles and responsibilities and effectiveness with driving defect free cash disbursements and receipts.Oversee and manage banking and financial institution relationships, which includes negotiating fees; monitoring the quality and effectiveness of all financial services used; implementing new technologies, products and services to improve cash cycle and simplify company operations; and ensuring these services and/or technologies are optimized for smooth operation.Develop and foster relevant external relationships.Develop and corporate mechanisms; ensure all activities follow compliance and oversees regular testing in accordance with these regulations; and implement improvements to existing controls where needed.Recommend and implement solutions to strengthen operational controls and incorporate best practices.Seek opportunities to stay current with market data and industry trends; share findings with team members as appropriate.Issue regular status reports and ad hoc reports to senior leadership through both verbal presentations and written assessments.Experience & Expertise
Technical Acumen:
Deep treasury knowledge and demonstrated treasury leadership. Strong experience around and understanding of capital planning, liquidity, capital markets, treasury strategy, risk management (enterprise and credit) and insurance.Industry Exposure:
Multi-site services experience is nice to have, however, executives who come from enterprises known for developing outstanding financial talent with the agility to transition to new industries/businesses will be equally considered. Experience working for a blue-collar, labor-intensive business nice-to-have. Experience working in a growth-oriented environment preferred.Team Leadership:
