Job descriptionProduction ManagerDepartment: CMP-OperationsClassification: ManufacturingReports To: Director of Engineering and ManufacturingGeneral PurposeThe Production Manager directly schedules the daily work of the Production Technicians and coordinates the manufacture and assembly of the products made by Cork Medical Products (CMP). He / She is responsible for ensuring that daily tasks and goals are met, ensuring that all procedures and quality policies are followed, ensuring that the medical devices are made in a clean environment, and that all technicians are properly trained and have the correct tools to complete the requested jobs. The Production Manager is also responsible for improving the performance, productivity, efficiency and profitability of the organization through continuous improvement and LEAN activities.The Production Manager must continually communicate with all team members and/or partners of Cork Medical to ensure that all facets of the manufacturing process are properly coordinated - timely receipt of raw materials and components, proper staffing to meet the needs, scheduling of outside service vendors (sterilization), and logistics for product moving throughout the process.The Production Manager must develop, train, cross-train, mentor, and coach the team members.Ensuring cleanliness in all manufacturing areas including the warehouse is a daily requirementMain Job Tasks and Responsibilities May Include But Are Not Limited To The Following: (While working in the manufacturing environment itself, it is required that all gowning requirements, all personal protective equipment (PPE), safety requirements, and / or cleanliness and hygiene requirements are followed).Coordination and Supervision - Coordinate, manage & monitor the workings of the technicians within the department.Best Practices - Improve processes and policies in support of organizational goals. Formulate and implement departmental and organizational policies and procedures to maximize output. Monitor adherence to rules, regulations and procedures.Communication - Consistently monitor and manage the expectations of the team. Communicate daily the progress and needs. Facilitate coordination and communication between support functions.Production - Coordinate and monitor the work of the various departments involved in production, warehousing, pricing, and distribution of goods. Monitor performance and implement improvements. Ensure quality of products. Manage quality and quantity of employee productivity. Manage Maintenance of equipment and machinery. Provide technical support where necessary.Work with R&D to develop specific manufacturing timelines and budgetsWork hand in hand with the quality team, ensuring standards in accordance with ISO13485.Coordinate production planning with supply chain to receive the necessary raw materials according to production schedule and expected sales.Work with Engineering team to ensure all machinery is working properly.Strategic Input - Liaison with top management. Assist in the development of strategic plans for operational activity. Implement and manage operational plans.Education and ExperienceIndustry Relevant Production Experience - Medical Device Preferred, with Understanding of ISO 13485:2016Bachelor's Degree5+ years of progressive experience in medical device manufacturingA track record of accomplishment in developing subordinates including production supervisors, engineers, and technicians.Stong Communication skillsLean Six Sigma certification a plusJob Type: Full-timePay: $75,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
