Responsibilities • Order, review, organize, and summarize medical records, prepare chronologies and timelines, analyze case merit and identify standard of care, causation, and damage issues • Research, identify, interview, and communicate with expert witnesses • Conduct medical and legal research • Draft letters and e-mails • Draft pre-suit documents including Notice of Intent, Expert Affidavits, Informal Discovery, Responses to Informal Discovery, • Draft litigation documents including pleadings, discovery, discovery responses, subpoenas, deposition notices, orders, exhibit lists, expert and witness lists, etc., under the supervision of a lawyer • Assist lawyers with preparation for depositions, mediation, and trial • Handle all aspects of pre-litigation and litigation files from initial client intake through trial There is an added bonus for those who are currently employed and have been with the same law firm for more than a year. Responsibilities: • Order, review, organize, and summarize medical records, prepare chronologies and timelines, analyze case merit and identify standard of care, causation, and damage issues • Research, identify, interview, and communicate with expert witnesses • Conduct medical and legal research • Draft letters and e-mails • Draft pre-suit documents including Notice of Intent, Expert Affidavits, Informal Discovery, Responses to Informal Discovery, • Draft litigation documents including pleadings, discovery, discovery responses, subpoenas, deposition notices, orders, exhibit lists, expert and witness lists, etc., under the supervision of a lawyer • Assist lawyers with preparation for depositions, mediation, and trial Qualifications: • Florida Registered Paralegal (FRP) • Must have completed an ABA-approved paralegal certification program such as an associate’s degree or proprietary school program in paralegal studies, bachelor’s degree desired • Certification from the National Federation of Paralegal Associations (NFPA) or National Association of Legal Assistants (NALA) • Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills • Excellent organizational skills, and time-management skills • Proficient with computers, software, and programs including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.), Adobe, Dropbox, etc. • Experience with Filevine preferred. Will train. • Bilingual (Spanish) preferred Compensation: $68,000 - $77,000 yearly
